You live dangerously I see? I’ve been paranoid ever since I heard it’s bad to let fuel levels get that low cause you can get the grim from the bottom of the tank :notsure:

Put Bilstein 6112's on the front and the passenger side sway bar link nut was rusted to the extent I had to cut the link. Drove 10 miles without it and the CV boot was shredded.

I did the same thing. It was a hard lesson to learn. I tried to replace the boot - what a waste of time. I had my dealer swap in a full axle from Napa for under $400.

Yeah... total risk taker. I was office bound for a couple of days and knew I wouldn't be straying far from the local gas stations. Normally I don't like to get below a 1/4 in case I have to respond to something and stopping for fuel becomes part of an awkward conversation.

I get more concerned about low levels in winter than about grime...

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
    You know... (brief rant-and-rave here)

My "Coma is a lot roomier inside than my last ride, but there seems to be a lot of wasted space. I was a little peeved the other day to find that my ice scraper wouldn't fit in the driver's side door pocket, where I've always kept it. Part of the reason is that the pocket had been molded into beverage holders. Passenger door pocket? Beverage holders. Center console? Beverage holders. Behind the console storage box? MORE beverage holders. Just how much do Toyota designers think we drink? Grrrrrrrr...

<edit> Oh, and it's snowing here again. Man, you go to bed one night and wake up the next morning to find it's January already. :annoyed:

Funny you mention that. I had a boot blow out on my Nissan work commuter Friday. Axle grease everywhere. Was looking for a replacement split boot. All they make now are fitted. Since you need to disassemble the hub for a boot it is just as easy to replace the axle. And bonus I replaced it 6 years ago and had a lifetime warranty. Free replacement axle beats a $20 boot anytime.

I like to carry a roll of Viva paper towels in my glove box. Never know when you might need one. Also great to sop a little rain water that collects on my floor mats from my shoes.

Since buying it, I've added decals from @rrentrop, added the cubbie gaskets from @micwillia (thank you! they will work great I think). Yesterday, started bed build out (sleeping platform & storage in progress now). Bought ARE MX camper shell (ETD mid December - sigh!). Loving the truck.

Snowing here in Olney south of you too at the moment. They called for 3 to 5" but it fell short of that mark. Ground is white but it has melted off the sidewalks and parking lot. Cannot vouch for the streets because my Tacoma stays parked until the streets are dry.

    I carry these:

They're stronger than a tissue, but softer than most paper towels.

Hey thanks for posting these! I'll have to look for them next trip to Walmart. Viva paper towels use to be real soft back 20 years ago. They are still softer than the rolls of blue shop towels though.

Ah, so not quite Illin-tucky. Looks like you're getting the same as @StayinStock .

(It's really startin' to pile up out there. Need to throw my winter-wear duffel in the back of the cab already.)

I need to make a nylon bag for the box that I can hang on the back of the passenger seat for easy access.

In case it's not obvious (wasn't to me), the slanted side of the box is meant to go behind the towel bar in the bathroom (as guest towels).

1st deer shotgun season starts here tomorrow. There might be a little snow left in the woods. Saturday & Sunday I would say no.

For vehicles with the fuel pump inside the tank (I assume tacos have this) the fuel also provides cooling for the pump. Because of this, I always act as if that low fuel leads to premature wear and failure of the fuel pump.
