The AR all day, they are good for a store bought rifle. It will go bang, and much more useful than a shotty... assuming it’s the standard variety 18” barrel.

well first and foremost, what model shotgun did you win...

if it is the 590a1 in the configuration I most wanted, I may not take the trade

but now if it is any of the others Mossbrg pumps out, that trade sounds awfully enticing

is the mp15 new or used?

One more question for you guys. This is my first ar, the one they have doesn't have a handguard you can mount anything to. I'd like to run a front grip on it as well as other rail accessories down the road. Must I buy an entire new handguard or can I run something like this?107088_1.jpg

ok this makes a bit more sense now as far as them offering you the trade..

IIRC that model shotgun new will fetch a higher price than that mp15 does new...

It sounds like it’s the most basic AR they make, which isn’t worth much more than $450 used. Just hang on to the shotgun and if you don’t like it you can sell it easy.

i believe the plastic guard that comes with the rifle will accept a rail, however if you shoot it a lot from what I gather that plastic heats up real quick and you will want to upgrade for a proper heat guard

here is just one of a million other reviews: https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/sw-mp15-sport-ii/

Scale of 0 - 10, 0 being poor and 10 being awesome, where would you rate this built AR15?

Strike Industries makes a lot of parts in Taiwan.
Radical Firearms is absolute garbage, specifically their barrels and BCGs.
Never heard of Expo Arms or BC Arms
    Spikes and Odin is good.

If it is new, I wouldn't pay more than $380 for it, then I'd part out the gun and keep the receiver, LPK, and handguard.
If used, I wouldn't pay more than $315.

    If
If BC Arms is Bear Creek then I'd definitely pass. Their barrels are barely Minute of Barn Door.

Hmm my experience with them is limited to my buddies gun. So far so good for him. But I’m a Faxon guy. Won’t buy anything but Faxon or Daniel defense

(My m16a1 clone has a green mountain. It’s been good, only company that made a m16a1 barrel)

Faxon and DD are great (Green Mtn too, obviously). I like Ballistic Advantage as well.

Bear Creek is the new name for a company once called Moore's Machine Company. A Google search using site:ar15.com or site:m4carbine.net along with Bear Creek or Moore's Machine Company should tell anyone what they need to know about that company.

That was my first AR, fantastic for the price, especially for a shotgun trade-in. Shoots accurate enough for me at 100 yards or so and has never given me a single jam that wasnt the ammos fault. Would definitely recommend

Not a fan of muzzle brakes or heavy barrels on tactical rifles, but it's not far from being a decent bench rifle. Not what I'd build.

Can confirm, my BCA upper shoots 9moa with wolf steel case, and not a whole lot better with good ammo.
