Taco Garage - Dashtop Multi-Mount (DMM) - Securely mount ANYTHING to your dash

Cant wait for this to arrive, just ordered last week. 708. Excited to install it for my upcoming road trip. And at the same time ill paint the trim on the inside since ill have it off already

 

I want to do this. Just need to get brave enough to do all the wiring back there.

 

Anyone seen a universal mount for something like a GSM radio?

 

Not bad at all! I’m a noobie with wiring too. It’s straight forward and I tried to make my instructions easy to follow. It’s really nice having the extra fast chargers with clean wiring. I’ve gone on 4-5 offroading trips with this setup without any issues whatsoever

 

Did an awesome job with it. I have yet to install the mount itself as I saw your post and want to add the charger back there.

Awesome job @FreshMexicanTaco My DMM install is complete for my VHF APRS Ham radio install. Love your idea of adding USB power to the DMM! Your holes were large enough where I could splice the Kenwood Head Unit and GPS USB cables and run the wires cleanly through the DMM holes. Your product is awesome, and the install was really easy!

I just installed the DMM. The install is easy. The fit was good. I notched the back of mount to pass two charging cables thought. I also installed a usb outlet behind dash. There is enough room in between dash and radio to mount usb outlet in the dash. I’m just not ready to drill a Big hole in the dash!

 

Is that a functional LCARS interface or just an image?

On a different note, I have a Scorshe (sp?) magnetic plate with a 1/2" ball. I've scoured the interwebs for a 1/2" to 1" adapter but haven't seen anything so far unless I've misinterpreted some product. Or would it be better to get the XL plate mentioned in a previous post? Looks like that one is on a 1" ball. I'd much rather go with a magnetic mount (worked well with my previous car) + DMM for future expandability.

 

I have some adapters but I haven't been selling them separately because I didn't know there was any use to them, I'm still not sure they work for you though because I don't think they are 1/2", I think they are a little bigger than that (I haven't measure though)

 

@CAG Gonzo Unfortunately I am not good enough enough to make Entune actually function with an LCARS interface. This is just my 'Startup' and 'Screenoff' static image.

Just received a Black Friday 30% code for Quad Lock: QLBF18

I received the case for iPhone XS and the ram ball mount, very solid. The case replaced a Spigen case I was using previously, I like this case a little better.

The DMM is scheduled to arrive tomorrow so I should be able to get pics up and a better review of the setup later this week for anybody that was interested.

 

Just got,it,and installed it. Felt like a kid waiting on the mail man. Great quality and easy to install once i found a bit that fit. (13/64 is what i used). Now no more cup holder phone!
