Hmmm...usually the East to West shipping is a dealbreaker on stuff like this, but hit me up if you do. We can see what's what.

Your profile pic threw me off. Hahaha whoops. Hey that's what the express if for.

We love our kukenam though. Even with the air we go in Nov and Dec . Might get the weather cover for it next to really push it. Which might also help with the earlier talk of weather and drying out

I camped up at the ski resort parking lot at ~8500ft before a pow storm rolled in without the weatherhood. Just know how to layer up and keep the sleeping bag warm, and you'll be fine. Having first tracks while the canyon road was closed was priceless.

Yup. Between the two of us we've never been cold I'm that tent down to mid 20s. It been fun. The wet mix is what does us in up here. Like tonight we are getting 8" of wet heavy snow....and I'm hiking Saturday...haha

-3* Cold Smoke! Getting layered up in the tent after I cracked the zipper on my bag was a miserable experience though.

There is some select few spots you can do it up by Alta and Snowbird. You gotta work to find the super secret map.

We layer too. I find under the mattress was huge for us. We bring a king sized blanket from llbean and it helps get that good selwration (edit- the faq?? Separation*) from the bottom and builds up around you to insulate. I love it.

We play a game. I say tuck me in. She calls me a moron. I remind her we are 70 miles in the woods and she can't drive a standard. It's all fun.

Nothing like parking ON the ski run, bbqing elk burgers, and having a tacoma party. Quite the Gaper Day! I've got a couch you can crash on if you wanna come visit.

If it's feasible, I'd say go bigger. Especially if you'll be adding a kid in the next few years. I originally had not planned on getting the Rainier, but ended up stumbling across one on Craigslist for $1500 and it had only been used twice so I couldn't pass it up. Now that I have the extra space, I'm happy I ended up with it. I, too, will most likely be growing the family in the next couple of years and this will ensure I have the room for it.

i just need to get a damn mr buddy and deal with it. Last weekend i was fine in 18* but my toes got cold even double socked in my 0*. But otherwise i was warm. Tap of the heater for 5 min in the beginning and middle and end of my sleep would have been enough. Cold camping is so much better than being hot as shit trying to sleep.
