after talking with canuckinsc this evening, im starting to think about getting a decent cb setup for my tacoma......nothing real expensive, but something that will work for times like when we are off roading at uwharrie!!

anyone got any info/advice and whatnot??

i was thinking about a cobra from walmart....relatively cheap, and i'd need a good antenna too.

That's basically what I got, cheap, but effective. I have a 4' Firestick II antenna.

I personally like the Cobra 75WX ST ($90 at Amazon.com). It's very small so it wont take up a lot of space in the cab. For antennas, Firestik.

I can't recall which CB it is, but I know a lot of people have put a CB in their ashtrey in the first gens, I'll search TTORA for a pic for ya later.

I have the Cobra from walmart as well. Here's a link for it. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4642484 And then I'm running two 3 foot antennas a buddy of mine bought himself and me some off of ebay for pretty cheap in a set both the antennas, the mounting brackets and screws for that and then the coax, although i had to go to radio shack and get an extender, they aren't the best but they don't do too bad, especially for what you're wanting them for. :D
