    Hmmm, not sure. I'd guess right now that I put about $30k into parts and labor for this part of the build. Which is why we didn't buy a new Tacoma and instead bought a 2010. Will you be on the trip this weekend?

    Yes, I plan to. I have a 4 month old so it's always a bit up in the air but probably gonna bring the wife and kid.

    Dang! 30G!! So at least 10G probably more labor! Too bad money not spent doesn't always equal money in the pocket haha. Thanks for your reply man.
    Question, what if your truck gets stolen? God forbid but you probably know that most insurance will just pay you book value or did you make some specific arrangement?

    4 month old? Oh man! I remember those days...my boy is 2 now. So happy to be sleeping again. I'm hoping they will join me Saturday but the wife might want to do her own thing.

    Yeah, I'd guess about that in labor for sure! This truck is my childhood dream-come-true so I'm happy to pay if I am able. Work hard, buy cool shit. Once it's completed, I'll buy extra coverage for the truck, because I'm far from done yet and the total cost will be a lot to lose to some a-hole with no respect for people's property. Also, this truck will see Central and South America in the coming years so lots of special coverages. This is a good reminder for me to call my insurance guy! *literally makes note to call insurance guy on Monday

    That's the dream man, for sure. So far:

    -Sell house
    -Pay off debts
    -Build dream overlanding rig

    Next up:
    -create mobile PT job
    -Save up more money
    -Convince wife to hit the road for long stretches of time before son gets into real school

    She's actually the hardest part of this entire plan! Slow and steady wins that race, however.
