(Says the guy who still doesn't have internet since we just moved and the PA Edition says it's out for delivery via USPS... And it's three hours past when the postal worker came.)

 

Go to a friends house who has a better connection and plug your PS4 to their internet. That or it might be better to get a physical copy, use until yours is done DL and resale physical copy.

 

I have copy, this is just for the first patch. Anyways, switching providers. I'll have that set up before this downloads. Hopefully next weekend I'll roaming the wasteland...

 

you are you on dsl? If the modem has ethernet and you have a cable laying around, use that to help speed it up

 

How’s everyone liking the game so far? I miss the interaction with game characters. So far the only game characters I’ve come into contact with are robots, other than the couple players with headsets. Also doesn’t seem to be as many creatures in the wasteland although now I’m up in the NE corner they are stronger and more are appearing. I’m only level 10 I think

Wow dude I feel for you. My old dsl was that slow. Now on 115mbps cable with a router.

Maybe, I think it would of made the game a lot better. Honestly it seems kinda boring to me. Except the event things they have where you get multiplayer’s, those liven it up a bit.

I seen it and it looks sweet to me. Some d-bag in some website said nothing but bad things about it. Saying it smells terrible is and cheap and poorly constructed

 

The helmet smells like paint on the inside, but it's not terrible or distracting. Then again, I'm used to the smell of a refinery so smells generally don't bother me. The material of construction is thin plastic of some sort, but it's not a motorcycle helmet. It is meant to be a decorative collector's piece and is beautiful IMHO. Personally I really like it and I'm glad to have it adorn my shelf. Definitely no buyer's remorse on my end.

I knew what I was buying and the wearable aspect was a novelty. I think the people who are unhappy with their purchase had some highly unrealistic expectation.

Aw shiet. Only thing I don't have is the Mark I(?) PipBoy - the one from 76.

I didn't receive any update on the Dark Rum so I did a little digging. It looks like it should ship on or around the 19th, despite the order email stating the ship date of the 14th.

 

Fuck if I had that stuff I would probably wear it while I play...

Because why not?

 

How’s the game so far for the ones who have it? Also what system are you playing on? So many mix reviews out there.

IKEA is great for shelves and display cases for this type of stuff. For example, I'm going this weekend to pick up this display shelf for my power armor figures.

I really really like it so far and have zero regrets buying the PA Edition.

The insanity and toxicity present in the reviews, reviewers, and players on both sides of the love-hate spectrum is absurd. It's actually making me a little sad. Some of the criticism is warranted, but for the love of God, the game has been out for 48 hours now? Give Bethesda a chance to do their thing. The bugs will be eliminated sooner than later, additional features are coming upcoming patches, and the game is going to have continued support for the foreseeable future. If we still have these issues a year from now, then there is a problem. 48 hours in, not a problem. This is just my opinion, but I think a lot of the hysteria exhibited by the "anti-76" crowd is stupid. Similar to what I said about the PA helmet, people went into this with expectations not supported by anything other than their own personal desire, and when the product isn't congruent with those desires, those people are angry. Don't take this as a shill for Bethesda. There are glitches. There are bugs. There are features that I wish they implimented years ago (21:1 aspect ratio dammit!). I wish they had released the BETA ahead of the final release with more time so these issues could be resolved.

That said, I'm going to be happily trudging around West Virginia with my character OilDrum and I hope to see you out there.

One other thing to keep in mind.

Social media, and the internet on a grander scale, is out of control and it's both fascinating and depressing to see how easily people are manipulated. I'm not immune to it any more than anyone else, but I'm mindful of the phenomenon and do my best to insulate myself from the ill-effects by forming my own opinions based upon feedback generated by my own experiences.

In other words, pay little to no attention to YouTube, reviews, etc, regardless of whether the review or conversation is positive or negative. Form your own opinion and the best way to do that is to play the game yourself.

I might pick up the Dog Meat and Fallout Girl statue if they're not sold out already.
