well the best locker you can get is the ARB selectable air locker.

oh I think that locker runs about 800 bucks or so, plus youll need a compressor and have it all installed.

The ARB is the sworn by locker by most hardcore wheelers (doing stuff your Prerunner never will be able to... sorry I say it cause I had one :D) As for "upgrading the diff" are you referring to swapping out for a whole new diff or... ? That's some serious work with suspension modifications, drive-shaft modifications, brakes, ect ect. The rear ends on our trucks are pretty robust, though some of the real hardcore guys have been breaking them... You're probably fine just running an ARB.

Also, note your rear diff is open, not LSD. The Auto-LSD uses the breaks to simulate a clutch engaged LSD... The "true" clutch LSD in on the sports was dropped in 09+ for auto-LSD.

ok... i dont wanna go with an air locker although i have the type of compressor for it already and most of the braided lines layin around the shop but i just wanna be able to do what the offroad can do (hit a button, hit the gas, and leave TWO skid marks lol)

I think your only option for a push button locker is either the TRD off road e-locker or the ARB air locker

Check out youtube.... it's all over.

That said if you're looking for two skid marks on the pavement... LSD is a much better bet as it will put a lot less strain on the drive-train. Locked burnouts will cause a decent amount of axle wrap.... which causes things to break.

    ^x2

lockers are for un-improved roads only

turn off your ATRAC and all that other crap and you should be able to break loose and spin those tires

    Kids and 30k trucks

How badass is the ARB?? I had a jeep with a front & rear ARBs.

That locker is sooo damn good, that it can get you into trouble if you're not careful with it. It can scare the bejesus out of you while offroading in extreme situations.

Here's an example: You start driving up this really long dirt incline (arb is not engaged). You get 3/4 of the way up and you suddenly stop moving. All of your tires are spinning and you start moving backwards. WHile you're still spinning the tires....and not moving, you reach down and hit the ARB Switch. The wheels lock up and you start moving forward. It's THAT frigin awesome!!
