Looking to replace the 4.5 in spacers I have in front with real coilovers, I want to keep my 6 in lift tho... anyone have any links to do coilovers that will fit? I’ve seen contradicting information out there. Some say you need custom ones made and others say that they make them already.... sorry if this has been talked about I’m still learning to navigate the site!

FOA has a Tacoma coilover in multiple lengths. The pluse 4-6 inch should work.

You already have real coilovers.I get what you're saying though that you want a 1 piece coilover that gives the 6 inch lift without the spacer.. Radflo, Fox and Bilstein (5 inch) all have coilovers that will replace the spacers you have now. I'm certain Icon and King do also but I never looked into it. As far as I can remember though, all the 6 inch coilovers don't actually give you any more suspension travel. They are the same body and coil with a longer leg for it to stand on. Basically it's a coilover with a built in spacer. The RC lift is the same drop bracket for the 4 inch or the 6 inch lift so no worries about telling them which bracket you got.

Is the only difference the size of the spacer? I know very little about these lifts.. Trying to learn as i go..

Sweet, thanks for the info man! And yeah basically I just want to get ride of the spacer. Not doing any crazy hard offroding it’s really just for the peace of mind

Yup, small spacer for 4 inch lift and big spacer for 6 inch lift. lol I have the 6 inch lift but only wanted 4 inches cause I have Fox coilovers that give 2 inches of lift already so as I looked through the parts list I figured out that everything is exactly the same except for the spacers so I just ended up chopping my 6 inch spacers down to about a 3 inch spacer so my total lift including the Fox coilovers is about 5 inches.
All good bro. I have the Fox coilovers for a stock truck with the spacers. I thought about going to the longer Fox shocks to eliminate the spacer but ultimately I decided to run the shorter Fox with spacer in case I ever decide to gop to a different coilover it'll be MUCH easier to sell the shorter Fox coilovers since it fits any Tacoma as opposed to the taller Fox that will fit only Tacomas with a 6 inch lift kit. Also, if I ever decide to bring my truck back down to stock height I can just unbolt the spacers and still run the Fox setup. Can't do that with the extended Fox coilovers although I realize that once you lift with a drop bracket normally no one will ever go back to stock height lol. Performance and travel length are exactly the same between the stock and the longer length coilovers.

That’s pretty interesting I didn’t know that... you would figure the travel would be a little bit longer and yeah I don’t plan on going back down from the 6in lift so I’ll just go with full size coilovers lol it was weird to me that for a 6 in lift they give you 4 in spacers for the front and rear, and for the 4 in lift they give you 2 in spacers.

Intuitively you'd think that because you have more wheel gap that you'd get a longer stroke coilover to make use of that travel space the tire now has but in all reality, you have the exact same wheel travel as stock, just spaced up. You could put new UCAs to gain a little more range without binding everything up and keep all your specs within range but the RC drop bracket lift has taken that all into consideration and moved the entire front suspension down 4 inches while maintaining factory specs. If you get the 6 inch lift then the RC lift basically gives you the same specs as a stock truck that is lifted by 2 inches. Other DB kits will space the whole suspension down 6 inches (including the front diff) so you keep factory specs with the 6 inch lift so technically they could get a 6 inch lift then crank the coilovers up a little more and get about 7-8 inches of lift without putting the front suspension too crazy out of specs.
As for the spacers, it's not a 1:1 lift when it comes to spacers on the front suspension. It's closer to 1.7:1 (most just say 2:1 though) so roughly every inch of spacer lift you'll gain almost 2 inches at the wheel

    Dang, mind = blown

So if I replaced the stock shocks with coilovers, I could still throw some spacers on top to clear some more lift since basically it’s at a stock length with the added coilovers?
