He's not a working dog..he's a pet but we're working on basic obedience now, and will add in some scent work eventually

I want to get certified S&R or cadaver but he's still too green

I take him with to take my girl to school every chance I get. He is happier riding in the truck than the car. In the car he slides around to much on the seats.

Finally got the kennels set up in the bed for my Dutchies.
2 XL Ruff Tough Kennels fit nice between the wheel wells. Glad that I went with windoors on the cap. Getting the kennel doors open from the tailgate would be a pain with the long bed.

I think it will work out well. Now I just have to figure out how to keep the dogs from getting too hot/cold, monitor the bed temp from the truck cab and how I’m going to transport gear when the dogs are back there.

Big thank you to @psdecoy for allowing me to copy his kennel set up and to @micwillia for the bed cubby seals/gaskets to help keep it dry back there.

I have had this Guy for almost nine years. I got him when he was 8 weeks old. He only likes to be petted when he is sleepy. He likes to walk up and lean all his weight against you. The vet calls him a hugger. He said some Dogs just do not like to be petted. He is in the top of the list as far as watch Dogs go that I have had in my life. Loves to ride. Anybody else have a hugger?62C704C7-ADFA-4D00-B45D-51EC8B50B1F8.jpg

Home Depot bucket fan that can run off the bed outlet. It’ll keep the bed cool and only thing needed is ice, which is easy to replenish out on the road.

Regarding keeping it warm I got nothing.

Our GSD will just lean right into you while looking down so she can press the top of her head against you. She started doing it on her own but if I ask her for a hug she’ll come over and do that. Super sweet little girl.

That’s definitely an option I’m considering. Only issue is keeping the dogs from eating it.
