This is on a 2018  why people don’t want to spend $120-$200 on something that gets WELDED TO THE FRAME of your new truck... I will never know lol.

Replied with “it would’ve been a lot cheaper to get me to do it the first time but anything can be fixed” and never got a reply lol. Doesn’t bother me since I was not excited about breaking out a grinder and wire wheel under that tight spot. Just funny how people are.

    What hasn't been modified?
Lol. The guy that welded mine on only did the sides of the plates. And I’ve only got 3 plates on each side :notsure:

Really getting that itch to buy a plasma cutter right now. Anyone know any good black Friday deals coming up? Doesnt have to be name brand, but I dont want junk either. I guess 30-40 amps would suffice.

The ones on my crawler were only stitch welded cause personally, I know fully welded was overkill just with the math behind it. But look at the porosity in the welds lol

You can't beat a Hypertherm powermax 30. Expensive but you will have it forever.

Yeah thats out of the college kid budget. I want one, like bad. But Ive gotta be a bit more money smart especially since it wont get used often. I'm trying to talk myself into the Eastwood Versa Cut 40 for $479. Uses Hypertherm Consumables I can get locally.

Question on this, you're not worried about water getting between the frame and the plates?

No different than bolt on sliders. I guess it could? But I don’t grind all the paint off anyway. Just where the welds will be.

Is this something you really need or want to just say have I have a Plasma Machine??

If your not going to use it that often do you really need one.

What ever you buy make sure to ask about warranty issues they either seem to work or fail right out of the box.I hear so many Horror stories of doing anything to wiggle out of a warranty claim .

It gets expensive if you need to ship this back to the importer on your dime

Why I only ever recommend Hypertherm.

Finally got to mig weld with my xmt 350. Couldn't figure why for the life of me the beads where being really weird then remembered the last time i welded with it was aluminum so had to go and change the settings... But took out my spare tire carrier and put in new framing to house a water tank in-between the frame rails.

I'd agree with that. There was quality in the craftsman brand up til the last 5 years.
