I’m looking into lifting my 2005 Tacoma 4WD. I want it to look great, be good for going off road, and also be reasonably priced. Should I go with 3in or 6in? And what kit? Thanks

Search around a bit, there's a lot of options out there.

Try offroading first. Its vary capable without a lift. Meet up with locals see what they got n what may wotk best for your style.

    Welcome to tw.

If you want to cut the cross member out of your truck..... go with the 6 in lift.
You are better off with a 3 in or less lift.

I would recommend you 2.5 or 3 in top! There is no way that you can find anything else at a "reasonable price" for a 4wd. If you lift your truck, you have to be aware that many good features of your Tacoma will be sacrificed.

Yeah I have been searching around I just want to make sure it’s a solid kit because rough country looks appealing for price but I hear it’s terrible so I’m trying to make sure I avoid those. Thanks

Yeah from what I hear 3in or so seems like the best option, it’s good to hear it again thank you

i put a 6 inch on mine and love it!!! plenty of room for 35's and tons of ground clearance off road.

rough country. a nice set of upper control arms would compliment their kit well.

    I went with the Pro-Comp 6''.
    pro's-works great,looks good,plenty of clearance,run big ass tires.
    (what's written below does'nt FRICK'EN MATTER) lol.
    con's-cutting the cross member (ouch!)
sway bar issues(hitting coolant lines underneath fan shroud)threading sway-bar links into new spindles.Turning radius is horrible(no "U" turn at red lights anymore) 3 point turns increase to 4 or 5.
My wife thinks I took a perfectly good truck and ruined it.(re-read 1st line under pro's)haha!

:drunk: I never installed the new turning stops on my 6 inch kit. The damn thing turns on a dime! I'm sure my cv's don't enjoy it though.
