I can dig back into this if people need any more info to help me with this. A while back I was looking into ditch light brackets and a few of them said some models may require trimming of the cowl to make them fit. can anyone shed some light on this? is it a matter of dual zone auto climate control vs manual climate control, or maybe trim line related ORP vs SR5 etc? any help is appreciated. If needed I'll dig back up those companies that said trimming may be required if noone here can help right off the top of their heads.

The cowl is that plastic piece between the hood and windshield where the wipers are I believe

Yup you are correct. That's exactly what the cowl is. I'm trying to understand which models need that trimmed and if there are any companies out there that make brackets that do not require trimming. Do you have any installed without trimming?

Also Rago fab has a coupon code 10% off with first purchase you just give them your email. I have them on my 2nd gen and they are stout. Would buy from again. They are active at Jamboree and all that. Great people.

Thanks! Do you have any info on the low profile vs the standard? The product page doesn't state anything about the height change.

Keep in mind I'm in a 2nd gen. But With my light pods (Black Oak LED) I got some long bolts and without an extra set of washers they go down into the paint of my hood. So that's probably what it is. Maybe a half inch up or so is my best guess. Just call or email them, they're great people and respond quickly. Also pretty active on Facebook and Instagram if I remember correctly.

Good luck. I would recommend them as some people end up with leaking issues into the cab when trimming cowl and what not. Not sure what happens to make it do that, but I'm not a fan of destructive editing. If you can get away with a part without breaking or destroying something else, even better. Buy once, cry once. Get the good set one time kind of thing.

Same here. I think it’s going to wait til spring at this point. I’m not overly motivated to run cabling when it’s <30 outside
