What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Not necessarily. Seen tacos go for 4-8k with that mileage.

Is it a Trd? Double cab? Highly modified?

 

I’ve seen a completely stock extended cab with 300k go for 9k.

I sold my 2wd red DC with 220k for 7k

 

When the time comes I'll likely put it on eBay these trucks languish for months when people sell then here. People rather buy a full size

 

Is it 4wd? And how the frame?

Exactly. I paid $6k for mine with almost 315k miles on it.

 

The frame was done by Toyota in late 2015 and hasn't seen much winter action since that was done, maybe 2-3k for miles.

It's 4WD no one buys 2WD trucks here

 

I know a guy that passed on a 5k$ supercharged DC 4x4 with like 300k

I reinatalled my aux fuse box and tried to wire up the light bar last night. I ran a positive wire from the fuse box to the lightbar and tried to use the switched ground in the passenger headlight plug (I'm running a relay harness so it's unused) to trigger it when the high beams are on. That works but I think I'm going to scratch that idea and just run a switch because when the high beams are off the lighbar is still getting a connection through the plug and has a very faint glow.

I’ve done the same with my ditch lights. I put them on a 3 way switch, one position is on all the time, the other position is switched on and off with high beams. I’m running a related harness as well, tapped into passenger harness. For whatever reason, if I leave the switch in the high beam position, with the head lights off, the battery will drain. No faint glow from the lights, nothing. Not really sure what it could be...I just always make sure the lights are in the middle off position before letting the truck sit.

Now the fun begins.

Consider not using the stock rubber rack mounts that come with the new rack. It'll be super easy to to swap in new poly bushings before you mount it. Also, be sure the rack is centered (steering shaft input) before you install and connect the rag joint. On mine we assumed it was and it wasn't. Count the rotations each direction to verify it is centered.
