Loving it! It made a moderate difference for sure. Only downside is I am pushing her a bit more and that is resulting in less mileage. :)

Once you get done hooning, hopefully you see a 2mpg or so bump? That's kind of where I settled at without trying as much as I had to before the update. That's pretty stellar in my book considering that it is driving better.

I have a 2018 Tacoma Double Cab - Sport 4wd -- Manual Transmission that surges and hesitates - does TSB - 125-18 looks to only cover 2016 and 2017 models

Same issue I ran into with my dealer.

The only TSB covering the 18' manual is the one for the surging from 40-50MPH in 4th & 5th gears. Cant recall the TSB # but its in here.

Nice! Did they give you any trouble?

Fingers crossed Beaverton will do it!

It's an hour drive but Albany will do it.

This is what I need as it state it isn’t specific to only automatics. Going back into my dealer with this and throwing it on their desk.

Well got shut down when I went in for my appointment. I guess on their computer it’s showing the software update in text is only for a 16-17. Even though on the previous visit the service advisor hooked up to my truck and it showed an update was available.

Anyone have the full TSB where it lists an 18’ year truck as being included under the TSB??

    Thanks.

Easy there. The update applies to your Taco through build dates somewhere around August 2018. If the dealer won't load it, check the map in the first post, and try another. If that is a no-go, then reach out to the folks here with Tactrix cables and get it updated by a friendly TW'er.

Unfortunately, that is the issue this thread is based on.. There is actually no TSB for the 2018 AND the MT even though there is an update available. 125-18 is only for 2016-2017 but is for both transmissions and 58-18 Rev 1includes 2018 but is limited to AT. Read back through this thread and you will find a plethora of tricks to get past the all knowing customer service rep.

Thanks -- It's amazing how the manufacturer plays dumb on critical things that are first impression - or daily frustration points. It's not a new design.. It's no where as critical as the Air Bag mess that cost people lives that was ignored for many years until deaths reached double digits..

I already received several manufacturer surveys on the Tacoma and didn't hold back about quality, the shocks that don't provide enough dampening when the there is 4 adults in the truck - I hit a bump and the truck goes bouncing down the road..

I didn't like the Hitachi shocks either. I drive directly from the dealer to the tire store and had bilsteins installed.. But thats for another thread :)

    simple things for now
When I called to set it up, I asked for an extra block of time. I asked for it to be hooked to Tech Stream for a health check. They did ask why. I told them that is was a little hesitant in the 1-2 shift and that the idle felt funny. Once there they asked again and then it was done.
