Strapping / Tie Down Question - complete

There’s a lot of “hot air” in these forums, so that’s even lighter, right? Op should be worried the tanks will simply float away.

Hey, Folks.

I received the Quick Fists, although I have more confusion, or just a caution. My tank measured 7.25in dia, and the fists are noted to fit 2.5in to 9.5in dia. Test fitting, I am on the second to last notch getting as much stretch as I could unmounted. I might be able to get to the third to last notched once mounted? So if folks are going with a bigger tank, you might want a larger diameter range.

Also, the hole spacing is 6.25in OC / 6.5in outside-to-outside. Not big deal, but a 2x6 won't work.

I hogged out and notched the 2x8 and used a bit of rubber tread on the front end. 1/4 x 2in SS fasteners with 1in dia fender washers and nylock nuts.

It isn't wiggling around at all. I'm going to leave it in there for a couple days to test.

One nice thing is that it is below the second tier height.

25ft of hose will reach all the wheels without having to get the tank out.

I just wanted to post pics of the underside since I removed it after testing for a few days. It didn't shift at all after many hard corners, speed bumps, and curbs. Basically tearing up the local mall.

Front end with a bit of rubber protection for the bed wall:

With the 2in long bolts, I had to grind just a bit off of the middle ones since the nylon was too thick to be installed on the top side. The end of the bolts were contacting one of the ribs in the bed.
