Looks like the spring rate is 600 lbs so you should be fine removing the sway bar. I've run 885's with a 590 lb springs rate for years without a sway bar. Truck handles much better without it. The entire front doesn't jump when you hit a bump or pot hole on one side. Sway bar will transfer that to the other side when it's on. But everyone is different. It may have a little more lean on corners but it's not anything I'm uncomfortable with. Take it off and try it out. It's easy to put back on if you don't like the way it feels. I have a feeling you'll like the ride a lot better without it though.

I go off pavement frequently, I took mine out, letting my IFS be truly I. It feels a lot better off road, and I don’t notice it’s gone when I’m hitting s turns at a good speed. For me the performance off road makes up for the small amount of sway that exists (I don’t feel it at all to be honest). But I know that it probably does sway more, and the engineers who added this component probably don’t approve of my new sway values. I’m not afeared... the traction control with the yaw inputs blah blah blah will modulate the steering and braking if it gets out of hand (so the Toyota video wants me to believe) and I’m so used to it being gone that I’m not going to be surprised if I swerve to avoid an emergency collision. But you do what you feel is best, because the arguments for keeping it on are solid, and I can’t really dispute the logic. Still, mine is off the truck and exploring the world, having been granted it’s unexpected freedom. I received a post card from Morocco, Scotland, and burning man... I don’t think it will ever come home after “finding itself” in Sedona while tripping on DMT. I wish it the best.

Our turd gen trucks are heavy though. My 13” 600lb Fox Springs are really soft. I wouldn’t drop the sway bar on my truck unless I went to 700lb and had added some more weight.

I've had the swaybar on and off with multiple suspensions set ups and always reverted to having it on. For me there is too big of an impact on safety having it off and also the significant extra wear on tires, balljoints, cv joints, needle bearings etc. If you have an OR you already have a smaller swaybar than a Sport anyways.

Trying to see how not having it would affect the wear items you mention...

    Basically because more droop?

I recently added Eibach 650lb coils to my Fox 2.5" coilovers. After spring installation I removed the swaybar on the trail on day 2 of a 4-day Moab trip. It definitely rides better on the trail and it definitely has more body roll on the highway. I drove the 5 hour trip home without the sway bar on I-70 through Denver. I push a little harder than most on the highway and didn't care for the body roll. I did notice that a couple of people on the highway were paying attention and cleared a path when I was cornering next to them. I re-installed a few days after I got back home.

As little time as it takes to remove/install I'm going to leave it on for highway (at least 90% of my driving) and remove it for offroad trips.

This approach seems reasonable. Removaland reinstallation is so easy that time and effort shouldn’t be much of a factor.

Do you have a thread with pics of your Moab trip?

I took mine off immediately. I only notice a difference in short sweeping cornering in which case I simply slow down.

Its personal preference really. If you offroad, leave it off, if you dont leave it on.

Basically in corners your outside wheel will droop out and all the weight will be on the inside front wheel. So all tour suspension componenets gi through their full range of motion a lot more often than with a sway bar on. Tire wear is significantly worse with the SB off as well
