The Falkens look good, but the AT3 SL in 265 70 17 is 46.5 lbs and the KO2 in the same size C load is 45.5 lbs

The Falkens are one of the only AT choices in SL in the stock size. General discontinued the AT2 and doesn’t make the ATX in that size. Load E KO2s are the Baja champion because of their bullet proof sidewalls but I don’t want to feel like I’m driving an empty dump truck to work every day.

I believe at present Cooper is the only other real AT in the stock size SL. Duratracs at least offer a more reasonable load C in 265/70r16.

As an added plus the Falken gets the snowflake in all sizes; the other choices only get it in certain sizes.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Bought I would add some more pics to this thread.
I bought mine not long ago. I have had every tire that competes with these. For he money they are nice, louder than my KO2s, more bite then my Open Country AT2s. Overall I can feel the weight from stock for sure, but that’s obvious. I did go with the load range C, due to the fact my truck is loaded down and I pull and Offroad trailer.

They feel great in the rain and icy roads. I will update once I get these in the ruts and mud. To see if they clean out or get packed.

Have you tried DuraTracs? If so, what did you think of them? Also, what size Falkens did you go with?

So jealous. Been dying for a real snow. My truck hasn't seen snow since I bought it. Good for you!

That would be a wild choice on Jeeps part, very different from the norm. Kind of don't want that to happen tough as they're such a great "budget" option currently. Seems like Jeep could really jack up demand and prices by doing that.

I have not had duratracs, some friends have had them. Most run BFG or Toyo, I have tried a lot of manufacturers. We shall see how these Falkens hold up.

Also I would consider the SL over the E, unless your putting weight on it and taking it into the trails.
If your staying mainly on the road and light forest service roads, I would say go SL.
You will feel the imperfections in the road a good bit more with the E. But that’s probably obviously. I will say for the money I am very stoked with them. I bought 5 and it was a smart choice.

Which size and rating are you wanting?
How much does your truck go Offroad?
    Budget?

My plan is to run these in the spring/summer/fall. I ordered Hankook RW 11 Studded tires for winter duty.

I've been running 265/70/17 wildpeaks in SL for about a month now. Very happy with my choice so far. In the past on my first gen I ran KO's and they were descent but the wet traction is way better with the wildpeaks. I have no experience with Ko2 however.

285/70/17 P rated for the wildpeak and C for the KO2. I dont need the 10ply ones since i barely go offroad. My truck is my daily commute and most of the time its on paved road. Budget wise, i can get either of the from. Shop and the difference would only be $100.

I guess my determining factor would be the aggressive look, and durability. Which one is more aggressive looking, and more durable. I know the KO2 is a hair lighter than the wildpeak as well.

Sounds like your a BFG guy trying to convince yourself there is a better tire.
Why not treat yourself, and try something new. It’s not the end of the world, and you never get anywhere in life if you don’t give something a shot. Just my 2 cents
