The OEM rack should come with paint pen marks on the input shaft showing where it's centered.

@Digiratus thanks for the tip. I've watched @Timmah! 's video a couple times through already and feel pretty confident in the job. I've got the energy suspension bushings saved, but I think I have to wait on those. Need to buy a few tools for this job and until I find a new job I really can't keep throwing money at the truck.

I plan on tackling LCA bushings at some point in the near future, once I have some cash flow, so I'll probably throw in the steering rack bushings then since it needs to be loosened for that job anyway. Ideally I'd do it all at once, but it's just not in the cards right now. But, I'm 25 and learning as I go, so a few extra days wrenching is fine by me.

First time using fluid film today. Seems similar to the coating Toyota applied years ago. Hopefully the smell will go away in a few days and the drips too. 1117181352.jpg

I sold my snow wheel and tire combo for the Tacoma this morning. I need to figure out how to sell my old leather base leather interior. Seats suck to ship

In addition to the rear shackles, 33s, rear diff breather relocation, tailpipe chop, 2lo mod, front skid, POR15, and fluid film all done fairly recently, I installed 1.25" Spidertrax I got off FB to get the tires off the frame. Pictures of the new stance. Only rubbed on fender or wheel well once so far. Gotta get a little flexy to see where I need to trim and find out if I need to center the rear axle.

How accurate are these OBD2 scanners to measure HP and torque. Seems high for my setup. This is with the stock supercharger pulley. I’m also getting almost 8psi on my boost gauge (PLX DM-6). Vacc is at 22hg at idle so it doesn’t seem to be off.

I know the max boost is obviously was off but it’s a estimated not actual.

EDIT: maybe my cats are clogged causing the boost to be higher?

Just removed my rear slider window and reinstalled a nicer one that only has one slider. The old one had two that met in the middle. Making it super easy to break in to. The truck looks sleeker now too.IMG_20181117_151352563.jpg

It will. Although, the smell becomes somewhat addicting...

It gave me a scare when I came back after driving it when there was smoke coming from the engine area. I forgot I did the frame right next to the headers. Guess it was burning off.

I did the same thing. Also sprayed inside the doors as long the bottom, hinges and strikers, so the smell was inside the cab for a week or two.

Yeah I figured that. Don’t know why it even tries to calculate it if it’s that far off.

I’m still wondering about my boost pressure. Shouldn’t be getting 7.98psi with a stock pulley. I’ll have to hook up the r4 software to see what that reads.

I didnt do any of that as I'm only in NC so salt isnt too bad. My truck is from VA so i wanted to stop any rust that is already there, mainly on the rear axle and crossmembers. The frame was sprayed by Toyota in 2010 and that coating is starting to flake off, so I decided it would be a good idea to coat it myself every few years or so. So far I like the product but needless to say I was a bit alarmed to see smoke coming out of my engine lol.

Hmm, sounds like you have the same issue with the circuit but maybe your lights require more voltage to light. I suppose a workaround would be to add a relay powered when the ignition is on to orient any drain when the truck is off. Bit sure what I want to do yet

Wouldn't trust that either. Just rely on your gauge.

They're a complete guess unless you calibrate everything and even then they're not great.

The R4 will show you in absolute so be prepapred to modify that value
