Haha the image may be a little deceiving. I think it makes it look bigger.

Yes, if I do decide to order a @RelentlessFab i hope to see if they can mount two small plates to mount pod lights on the rear. I do like the relentless style and setup.

should be enough mounting points on the modular one to not need the plates. The bed bars do have an option.for the two mounting tabs though.

Have the KBV rack. Like the look. It's only been on the truck 3 days so time will tell if it rust or not. Will either do some bolt in gussets and use grade 8 hardware or weld it together at some point.

I like the flat metal look like yours instead of the tubular look but that’s just my opinion. Those black American Flag decals look pretty awesome too.

We do make our corner 'link' bracket with a tab for rear lights(not on the site yet, but is an option). May be able to see them on some of @Project Recon pics with the rack

Sometimes that is not always the most economical route to take, That was the direction I started out on I drew it all up in AutoCad for them and here is the thing it would had cost me near double to have it done that way since a good fabricator who is already set up to go will have a Jig all made and they just cut and bend all the parts for it or for a several put the pieces in the Jig and weld so the cost is down for them to do lower than a 1 off for the local guy.

This. I am pursuing a one-off bed rack that I am designing as well, and local fab shops quotes are not for the faint of heart.

So I picked up this naked Relentless rack in the mean time.

Voodoo's Rack and products are of decent design I was going to purchase several different items for the December wish list and ended up scrambling to find worthwhile replacements because If I am paying for Powder Coating I do expect it to hold up and if not I do Expect strong commitments from the builder as for standing behind the products. Myself I build and Sell high end computers and I do know what a bite an issues can make for a seller.

Agree.. I was gonna buy a bunch of their shit. Was bummed to hear about the Voodoo and witnessed the lack of customer support and semi-hostile tone they had.. hahah.

I can't imagine any kind of bed rack that would cost $1500.00 dollars. I really enjoy custom fabrication personally. Maybe you went to a shop that does any type of production work? Your paying for their time, shop, and employees. Find your local small fabricator who really enjoys what they do and those are the people that will be willing to work with you and work with your particular situation. I personally have no overhead and all of my equipment is paid for and I'm financially secure. I'm not out to stick it to anyone, I do the work for a fair price and I'm local to Charlotte NC so there is no shipping if your close. I can also deliver within a reasonable distance.

I wanted pelfreybilt sliders but we all know how that worked out. I told my wife that I was starting my own business after 20+ years in industrial and nuclear emergency service as a machinist and welder. I've bought 2 new welders, plasma cutter, 2 certiflat tables, tubing notcher, and a Jd Squared tubing bender. I can make almost anything with this.

Near double equals most racks are in the $625 Range plus shipping typical $150 range so I was looking at without Shipping because local pickup at $1100 with tax. BTW I'm in Utah ha ha haaa

For $625.00 you should be able to get a very nice setup, materials are cheap, Labor is expensive.

No standard machine shop is going to have a Tacoma bed rail jig already made in their shop. I do, and I'm also a Tacoma fan and I know the pain. I worked in some amazing shops and I know what it costs to run those facilities. I personally do not have that overhead.

Good luck. You’ll find that this stuff takes a lot of time to make. That’s the real make or break in this business. Time is money. Getting the process down to science to pump out a lot of product efficiently is key to keeping the bills paid. If you don’t need the money and you’re just doing it for fun, then stick to custom work cause it’s a lot more interesting. Either way, everyone will undervalue your work as they do in all industries.
