    Thank you sir.
I'll probably get the DJI Tellus (sp). Only 99 bucks, best bang for my buck I figure. We'll see how it goes from there...

Raleigh folks - sorry to interrupt the convo. Can anyone recommend some spots to off road in your area or anywhere in between you and the coast? Other than the beach...that I’ve figured out :)

I’d be particularly interested in spots where I could camp. Not a RTT, would be pitching on the ground. Just upgraded to 4x4 and want to get a lot of use out of it over the next year.

    Thanks all!

Nary an off road trail between RDU and the coast, besides the beach.

Well after my little bit of death wobble I’ve replaced all four ball joints, installed an adjustable track bar, new tie rod ends, new drag link and ends, and last but not least, the steering stabilizer. This Jerpy jerp is starting to drive like a Cadillac (that’s absolute sarcasm.. she rides good but it’s still a facking Jeep)

Next stop, getting rid of the rear spacers for actual springs and billies out back to finish the suspension. Just passed 100k so I’m sure I’m due for the motor blowing sometime soon. Then the real build starts :rofl::rofl:

    Check The Build Thread
The Tello doesn’t have a gimbal (or remote)...but does have digital image stabilization. You should see about a Spark on sale or look at refurbished or used...Black Friday or Cyber Monday maybe? Maybe even a used or refurbished Mavic Air. The gimbal will give you steady smooth video and pictures whereas if there isn’t a gimbal, you’d be at the drones mercy on keeping the camera still since it’ll be in a fixed position. Also, the remote for the spark is almost a necessity. You can control it via WiFi from your phone but I wouldn’t trust it for anything very far.

Since the new Mavic Pro 2 was just released, I’ve been seeing some great deals on the used market for DJI stuff...but also some people still asking too much too.

Ok that’s not too much farther, thanks! Is there a trail you recommend? Is camping legal?

Good read, man that spark is nice but to expensive for a rookie. Even refurbished is 279.

I'll have to look it up... Thank You Sir.

Here is the thread on Uwharrie it explains a lot. As far as trails the hardest 3 are Daniel, Dickey, and Dutch John I 'd avoid those until you are comfortable. The rest of the trails to me are easy but everyone has different levels of difficulty and what's too much for them. Rocky Mountain Loop has a decent rocky gulley on it either to climb or go down depending on the direction you head.

I have a Spark and it's super easy to fly. My daughter flew it around the yard with no issues. Really neat features and good image quality.
