    Howdy......
    Long day!
Stayed in a newly built art deco hotel in Artesia, NM. Room was huge.
    https://www.hotelartesia.com/en-us
    Left Artesia NM at 7:30am.
Weather was awesome....even saw some snow.....up through the mountains near Cloudcroft, NM, 8,350 ft elevation. Ate brunch in Cloudcroft. Why does food taste better at elevation?
Then over to Alamogordo, NM Space museum. Then White Sands, then White Sands Missile Range.
Stayed in Van Horn in El Capitan last night, very cool hotel, restored.
    http://www.thehotelelcapitan.com/
This morning driving over to Marfa, a few art galleries, then Alpine to pick up groceries for this week. Then down to Study Butte to stay with friends, off the grid, 400 acres.
The pic up in the mountains, you can see White Sands way out on the horizon.
My dad worked for NASA, 36 years and retired in D.C. as the NASA Chief Engineer. He was the Program Manager for Little Joe II.
At White Sands, wife acting like it’s cold shivering and in the snow. She sent this image saying there is tons of snow, really sand, to her mom in Kamchatka Russia(right across from Alaska, same kind of terrain, volcanoes, snow) where she is from originally.
Her mom wrote her back and said ‘why aren’t you dressed properly!’.
‘Fat Boy’, first nuke dropped on humans....Hiroshima.
Last pic, wife loves the kind of museums husband likes.....

My first time deer hunting was about 4 years again maybe. Went with my buddy and his wife in Junction, TX. 15 mins into the stand and two bucks come out and fight for our amusement. He shoots the winner and we track it maybe 100 yards and he field strips it and we toss it on my 03s bed. Then we go back to the stand and 10 mins later another buck walks out, he shoots it and it jumps high in the air, when it lands it looks right at us, takes a step and falls over. So the bar was set pretty high 2 bucks shot in like 30 mins. The next morning I'm in the blind wblind with his wife and she's holding out for a buck of her own. So when a nice doe walks out she hands me her rifle. I ask if it's loaded, she says yes. So I raise it to my shoulder and get my eye on it. I start to shake a little so I take a moment to regulate my breathing and remember my training and gently squeeze the trigger. Click. I thought you said it was loaded! So I load a round and now my window of opportunity is closing and I miss. Reload, doe is gone.
