We're drooling out here in Kalifornia for any precip, maybe snow around Thanksgiving at higher elevations. Been cold enough.

Been trying to get my boat winterized for a couple weeks now.Got the block and exhaust manifolds drained so l haven't worried about it but would like to finish with antifreeze (RV) and fogging the engine.Thats all l lack.

Afternoon, all. It's about 60 degrees out and chilly. Wife and I both have miserable colds. We don't envy the Northern members with the snow. We both grew up shoveling in Detroit and Toronto. My paper route in the winter on a bike was finger numbing awful.

Repo has been knawing on bones wherever he finds them on our walks.
Radio station in next county over raised almost $60,000 yesterday for the folks in Paradise, CA, most of the town is gone. One side of the fire is maybe 30 miles or so from me.

Carl, my friend was busy, returned my call a few days later. Had been to Chico earlier, the fire broke out, unable to get home which may have been good. Said his place with vintage vehicles is gone, motorcycles, tools. His mom rebroke her hip so was down the hill in Chico in a care facility, so he needs to take care of her and get thru paperwork and insurance. Not a pleasant experience. Has friends in Chico, so a place to stay. Guess when his mom can get around, they can stay at her house up here in town.

Good to hear that he is OK, very unfortunate though that he lost all of his possessions. :(

I read 1000 people still missing from the fires Duane. Be sure to tell your friend to count his blessings.

A good friend and neighbor moved to Sumter a few years ago. He is so happy not paying flood insurance anymore. He renovated an old house there.

Depends on where he lives, he still might need it...... unless something changes I'm good to 22" of rain or so, but lots of folks got flooded out at 10" or so ( in less than 36 hours)

Will call him, have not bothered him since he called back a week ago.
As the crow flies, one edge of the fire is 15 to 20 miles from me, but doesn't appear to be moving much if any this way.

Flood from 2015. Got 19" here and I was still high and dry. Could possibly get more and not have to worry about it, but in actuality :notsure:. Folks across the street, water was up to their patio's. My house is probably a good foot higher than theirs is. So, I know I can get that much :notsure:
