He has a sport and does not have a locker. The question was for 2wd ORs and yes, they DO have lockers.

Well I’m not going to do any serious terrain. I like snickers idea and get out and backpack. That actually is right up my alley. I’m into fitness anyways so that works. Thanks snickers!!

Welcome to TW get a good set of ATs an some buddies, beers, an recovery gear an go see what you can do. Have fun but some great additions you can add to the truck would be a detroit trutrac limited slip I LOVE mine. It aint no locker but performs great some sliders an a front skid plate an a lift if you want.

    Drive your current truck.
If you find yourself getting stuck more than a few times, you know it is time for an upgrade.

Yeah sort of. Auto LSD is going to help you when you're doing more slow, technical trails but if you're on a trail that you need speed then you wouldn't need it because it limits the engine power and in turn you lose momentum.

2wd will do ok is many situations but will obviously fall short in other areas.

Audi proved to the world the 4WD/AWD is superior than 2WD when they unseated Lacia as the defacto rally champ. Ever since rally is dominated by 4WD. Prerunner are 2wd but depend on super high speeds to float and jump across obstacles you don’t see trophy trucks driving 10-15mph

I would say no .if the truck is not designed for off road why risk taking it off road and destroy it . the sport versions with 2wd are designed for street .

Well guys, I went out exploring the trails today. It was a blast. Didn’t do anything crazy. Pretty much stayed on the trails that lead to the extreme trails so there were some challenges but nothing a 2wd couldn’t handle. Next weekend I’m going back out to see where else I can go. Thanks guys

just because its a truck doesn't mean its made to go off road .. they have different tiers for a reason better suspension lifted skid plates 4x4 ,crawl control these trucks are designed for each unique situation . can u go off road with any truck sure … is it a good idea no ..its all stock why risk it .. but its there truck they can do whatever they want .

No. No tiers. You believe there are, and you paid for that “tier”, yes. But your frame and suspension and hardware minus shock absorbers are the same across all trims. Or “tiers” as you say. This isn’t like back in the day where the 5-luggers were light duty compared to the 6lugs. These are all the same. And the difference in shocks is negligible.

I wheeled the piss out of my old 2wd 5 lugger. The biggest problem I ever had was lack of ground clearance. You can do more than you think with yours.

So you’re saying that the only real difference is being 2wd vs 4wd? All the other stuff is essentially the same?
