Engine wire harness help -due to rats

    So, a rat got in my engine bay and decided to chew out 3 inches of my wire harness. It got through 5 wires. 2 for the cam position sensor and 3 for what I believe is the oil valve for the VVT-i. I have a yellow wire, a blue with red strip, blue with white strip and 2 wires that are both solid blue.

    Are the solid blue wires common power? I don’t want to accidentally solder the wrong wires together. All the other wires are colored so it’s pretty straightforward. 4CFD75D9-3B71-4E26-A7D2-24F9FC39E414.jpg

    @Muddinfun thanks for the schematics. Couldn’t of done this with out them.

    @ovrlndkull i think I’m just going to twist tie them and put some duct tape on them.

    That’s what I’d do to connect things back together. If you’re going to take the time to fix it you might as well make it a long term solution. If you use adhesive lined heat shrink tubing even better.

    That stuff is amazing. If there is space to use that sort of electrical repair supplies on the wiring, that is the way I sugges the OP go to repair the wiring.

    Best of luck OP. It looks fairly straight forward. Damn rats. I believe our wiring I spy based, so that gives them extra reason to get in there and chew stuff up. So annoying for sure!

    Soy Bean based insulation... No car is safe.

    I have heard Peppermint Spray and there are some rodent repellents you can get.
