The first step towards recovery is admitting you have a problem. But, who wants to do that? LOL!
I’m on the verge of maybe buying another guitar, myself. I’m trying to decide between two different Yamaha acoustics, from their L series. I’m stuck between an LL16 (dreadnought), and an LJ16 (medium jumbo).
I can’t find an LJ in a shop to play to decide which is more comfortable. I love the neck profile on these guitars. Both are spruce top, and solid rosewood back and sides. Played a LL6 in a shop, and it just sang. Almost couldn’t put it down.
Oh, the endless spiral of addiction!:headbang:

I have an Fg700? Cheap, affordable and a few years old. Not to bad for a budget acoustic. The LL6 looks great.

It actually plays pretty sweet. Love the maple neck and it has lots of mojo. The new black one? Not so much. :(

I ended up ordering a Yamaha LJ16BC online. It’s a limited run Billy Corgan signature series. He worked with Yamaha to add certain mods to the standard LJ16. It has a Tusq nut, and saddle, open Gotoh tuners, brass bridge pins, and a “ZERO” logo on the headstock.

100% solid woods. Englemann spruce top, rosewood sides, and back.
I played the solid wood LL16 yesterday, and the tone was really lush. This body has a more narrow waist, more comfortable for sitting. Merry Christmas to me. I told my wife that at $999, it’s still a bargain compared to getting Volk TE-37s for the Taco! :yay:

I guess I’d maybe ask for a pic of the serial number? I don’t know much about the p90 pickups.

It's legit. I have the Goldtop version. The pickup covers might've been swapped out for better plastic. The stock Gibson plastic actually has a slight fleshy tone to it. I swapped mine out for bone white, along with the pickguard and poker chip. My model was called the Gibson Les Paul Tribute Goldtop w/ 60s neck.

Gibson first released the tribute series in 2010 with a limited run. It sold out immediately, so they did a second limited run and a third before going to into full production. The first limited runs had solid, one-piece backs on the bodies. Then they used multiple pieces. Some buyers were ticked about the change because it was obvious in the wood grain. So, with the next version, they painted the backs black to cover up the multiple pieces.

I obsessed over Gibson Goldtop since seeing John Fogarty play one on TV when I was a kid. There's no way I'd ever drop over a grand on a guitar, so I jumped on the Tribute series as soon as I could. I've swapped out the plastic bits for bone white and added a Bigsby with a vibramate and speed knobs. I sold the Bigsby, replacing with an old school trapeze tail, and moved the speed knobs to my Explorer. The P90s are mean and HOT. I like them a lot. Very different than my P90 experience in Jazzmasters.

The dark backs are not as desirable, so they can be found cheaper. They are said to be made with inferior wood, and I think this was during the FBI investigation into Gibson for importing endangered wood for the necks. Gibson had to switch to some other kind of fretboard wood which changed tone somewhat. Like I mentioned before, the dark backs were used to hide the imperfections from joining various blocks of wood together to make the body. Ideally, you'd want a one-piece body so the vibrations would resonate without hesitance. My rule of thumb is that if a guitar sounds well unplugged, it will sound great electrified.

Heck yeah. Solid body mahogany on that studio with zebra pups. That’s a hot guitar! Swap the black knobs for some amber speed knobs and it’ll be a true looker!
