Sure those aren't from a 4runner?

 

Nope all the mounting holes line up and they tilt forward. I just don't have a clue as to what this bushing is about

 

Its for isolation. Since there are supposed to be more luxurious Im sure that is part of it. But I don't know for certain.

 

3rd gens be like.... seat spacers.

 

I've looked at a few other seats on eBay base Tacoma 95.5-00 and it looks like they all have this bushing on the back rail.

Does anyone know if the floor pan is recessed on the 95.5-00 or should I just stick my stock seats back in for the sale and put these in the burn pile. I can't find anything mentioning this bushing when doing a seat swap. Maybe people just put in a longer bolt and throw the trim plastic away.

 

So all that's wrong is the bolts aren't long enough and the covers don't fit?

 

Hm I mean, I don't remember mine have that there. Mine aren't limited seats though.

 

That and the bushing has a very short shank sticking out of it 1/8 inch maybe. I want the trim pieces on there and they won't be flush with the carpet if I just stick a longer bolt in. They will be nearly an inch off the carpet and look like shit and likely won't even stay on if a shoe grabs it.

I think I'm just going to remove the seats and sell them separate if I can't find out what the deal is. I imagine that the reason no one has run into this is because people typically take seats out of later trucks and the later trucks don't have this bushing. I'm super bummed about this.

 

I just went and look, my 02 doesn't have the bushing but I'm almost positive my 99 does.

And it's not removable?

 

I could just it cut off, but I'd be worried the seat won't be level, the slider will bind etc. I won't have time to mess with this till turkey day.

 

Hmm, either way it'd be nice to get some info, even more so if you sell them.

 

My 99 does not have those bushings. But then it has a cloth interior. It is an SR5 with power windows/locks and bucket seats.

 

They're not going to work in this truck. I stuck a level on the seats and they're just barely level with these bushings. I looked at the later original seats and the back leg in the corner looks longer. I'm just going to remove them and sell them separate. This whole adventure was a huge waste of money and time.

Note to anyone else out there early seats 95.5-00 will fit in a 01-04, but you're going to have to grind the shank off the bushing, install a longer bolt and forget about installing the seat rail bolt cover.

I'm picky as fuck and this isn't my style

 

Went exploring again today, mainly to check the travel on the new rear Fox shocks. They have plenty of travel in both directions but I will probably move the lower shock mount down 1/2" to 1" from the stock location when I do the u-bolt flip, just because it IS a little close at stuff. And I still need to figure out how I'm going to attach my Superbumps.



Aslo found this cool windmill that is used as a water pump.



And I picked up this little air compressor from Home Depot on the way home so I could air back up. Very quiet induction motor with a 1 gallon tank, light weight too. Works well enough for airing up tires. I'm thinking about getting a power inverter now for the truck and start carrying the compressor in the cab.

 

Damn hermano that sucks ballz. I was super excited to see how this turned out
