Hi I am new to the forums I have a 2016 trd off road with Mastercraft courser cxt's in 255/85/16 on stock wheels that i recently installed a Main line overland GTS (Dobinsons) lift kit on as well as SPC upper control arms. I am now experiencing some minor rubbing on the uca's when the suspension is extended and the wheels are turned hard. This was never an issue with the stock suspension setup. I believe that this may be due to a poor job by the alignment shop, as the truck may be running some negative camber, putting the top of the tire closer to the uca. Has anyone else had an issue with 255s rubbing the uca? I want to avoid wheel spacers or wheels with less offset as I already barely clear the body mount when the suspension is compressed. Thanks in advance for any input.

Thanks! I did skim through that thread briefly and could not find any information about contact with the uca specifically, I must admit that i didn't thoroughly read all 71 pages though.

It could be alignment issue, but how wide is the tire to begin with. Anything over 10 inches is going to rub I believe. Not sure, as I have never put these on my truck.

The tire is 33.1x10 as per the math, which is almost a half inch narrower than the stock 265s. I also had 255/80/17s on my 07 fj wich also had about 2.5” of lift and spc uca’s and never rubbed on that truck either. I’m thinking that a good alignment by a 4wd shop will get rid if any rubbing.

I’m in central NJ. I have an appointment with OK4wd in stewartsville for an alignment next week.

I’d guess that it’s the offset of your stock wheels. With your lift and then with more droop as you mention, it’s going to move the tire closer to the UCA.

That’s what I was thinking, the part that seems off though is that I was running these tires before any suspension modifications without issue, and I am pretty sure that my new coil overs are no longer than the stock bilsteins. I am running a 1/2” top plate spacer on the drivers side, and a 1/4” on the passenger side, so the suspension does extend a bit more, but it seems to rub more on the passenger side, with the smaller spacer. I suppose the spc uca’s could be a bit “bigger” or extend toward the tire more than the stock ones, but that seems unlikely.
