The golden land of moto lol. I left there about a year ago. I did PCR/LTR development for awhile. Spent a lot of time on the LRS with the wildpeaks in the beginning.

It would cool to have a parking lot meet. An idea that might work well is Mighty Taco across from Galleria or maybe Cabela's lot, and get some Panera coffee

I’m leaving town for 2 weeks but a Sunday afternoon would be sweet at Mighty or a Monday evening at Athens

Ill be out of town some to. I'm seeing a few more modded Tacomas around the Orchard Park area. It would be cool to check out other trucks.

Yea everything that fit, like your u bolt flip kit. Only things I’m selling are bumpers and the cap was sold a few weeks ago. Ordered some skids for it too from RCI.

I just found this thread yesterday and read through it. I'll be watching the thread now that I know it's here. If my crazy schedule permits I might meet up with anybody that sets a date to be in this end of the state. No promises. My work schedule gets stupid and eats my life up. I would love to talk Tacoma with others and build up my knowledge base.

I've been to Allegany State Park many times but don't qualify as an expert on any level of it. We live 30 minutes or so from the park. My wife rides shotgun and does the spotting for me for places to take pictures. One of our "hobbies" is "wandering" which means driving around looking for places we haven't been before just to see what there might be worth taking pictures of.

There is a little known entrance to the park via an old truck trail. There are more than one but this is the familiar one to us. Until this year I've never had a 4x4 so we have always traveled the roads in my 4x2 Tacoma for photo wandering and berry picking. This road isn't winter maintained and the park officially barricades and closes the roads to vehicular traffic at a predetermined date in the winter. Here is a link to the official FaceBook page with last years 2017 announcement on it. You should be able to figure out when a good time to go there is. If you get off I86 at the Red House exit there is a small road marked as a dead end called Bay State Road. It's right at the end of the off-ramp. Follow it straight through, which is a nice, scenic drive of it's own. Check the coordinates on Google Maps on the link below. If you enter the park this way the road is all uphill and some parts of it are very steep. It could be a challenge if it gets muddy and snowy up there. My 4x2 always did it in fair weather but sometimes there was a bit of tire spinning and rock pitching in spots.

    https://www.google.com/maps/place/A...4c37c06569210d!8m2!3d42.1018784!4d-78.7532826

There are a few truck trails worth exploring but if you are looking for mud slinging, rock sliding rip roaring fun you might be disappointed. I could be wrong about that because there are places that I haven't explored for lack of time.

Last year we explored France Brook Road which begins close to where Bay State Road ends inside the park. We found it to be a narrow, single lane truck trail. Branching off that road is Jeep Trail which continues to branch out further. I am completely ignorant about the Jeep Trail, we were short on daylight when we were there so we didn't explore it. I will at some point be in there to see what there is to see.

I don't know if there are any places other than private land where people can go for more extreme wheelin around here but there are many little, seasonal and unmaintained public roads that are worth exploring just because of the natural beauty. I've explored some of them and turned around because they just looked a little to muddy and gnarly for the old truck. Now that I have a 4x4 that is very likely to change. I'm trying to remember the one I went up that turned into a creek bed on a cliff ledge. When the 4x2 started spitting softball sized rocks out behind me I chickened out and backed downhill for over a mile.

I just came across another interesting site that might be of interest.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Jeep/comments/33lrsh/trails_innear_allegany_state_park_ny/

    and this one.

    http://www.find-off-road-trails.com/new-york-trails.html

My Tacoma is my daily driver and only way to get to work so I'll pass on the extreme stuff for now. Can't afford to break the thing with a 30+ mile commute.

Thank you. My family for years owned a wing shop in Niagara Falls during the 60’s through the mid 80’s they would kill me if I forgot those.
