you'll need to set it back up on a dry day within a few days of arriving home if you get it drenched. No problem with stowing it and reopening it on multi day trips. I don't use mine West of the Cascades between November and March.

Has anyone here had any experience with Freespirit Recreation’s RTT’s? I’m looking at this one specifically: https://www.gofsr.com/product/highcountry55-trilayer-rooftoptent/

Their Tri-layer fabric has my interest and I think it’s a decent looking tent. I do a majority of my camping in the shoulder and off seasons, so chances and snow and below freezing temps are always there. In addition, I am going to be traveling to the Arctic Ocean next spring and need a tent that is going to handle everything that trip throws at it.

I know a few people with FSR tents, and haven't heard of any issues with them.

Which route you taking? I'm headed that way in July!

I’m going to take the Dempster up to Inuvik and then on to Tuk! I’m going the first week of June to avoid the bulk of the bugs and crowds. Would go sooner but the ferries typically don’t run until the last week of May or first days of June.

My other thought on a RTT is to by from Treeline Outdoors. They’re in my area and their 4 season tents seem solid.

I'm doing that same route, and was gonna do it in June, but my #2 had a scheduling conflict, so we had to push to July. I'd much rather do it in June, but oh well.

Anytime will be good. Aside from the bugs, I can’t imagine there will be a lot of people up there at any point in the year.

I’m going to be coming back down the coast on the way home, take the ferry from Price Rupert to Port Hardy to experience that side of things.

I'm really trying to decide if I want to bring my mountain bike since we are going through Kelowna and Kamloops on the way home. But not sure I want to subject my bike to the rest of the trip to get to that point.

Has anyone mounted a RTT to a stepside? I’m looking at getting the Smittybilt XL Overlander tent but I’m not sure if it’s going to be too big...

I actually don't think I've ever seen that. Not too many stepsides floating around here that I know of. Interested to see what you find out though.

Finally joined the RTT owners crowd this weekend. This thread has been a great resource in making my decision. Couldn’t be more pleased with the customer service CVT provided. 509BA471-1292-4CFE-8F50-630C237A462E.jpg

It’s the Shasta. The size is great for myself and the wife.

Think a small bassinet would fit okay in there too?

Ive had 2 FSR tents! I love them. Switched because they didnt offer what I was looking for in my 3rd..

but all were great, no issues at all.

A small one would definitely fit with two adults. However your room for additional space would be quite limited. We are planning on keeping two small duffel bags with our clothes and other necessities but I feel they will end up being pressed against the tent wall as we toss and turn during the night.
