Yes. Going to need a c- clamp or large vice grips to keep the springs compressed when removing the center pin.

Might need a longer center pins as well depending how tight you cut them off when you installed the dakars

Ubolts have rolled threads while the nuts have cut threads so when you torque down, the threads on the ubolts get deformed, thats why all manufacturers advice to replace the ubolts every time.

The guy actually drilled out the bump stop hole a little to accommodate and said he never likes cutting the bolts. Also, I think the shims Spey linked to has a new bolt anyways?

The issue seems that what if I try the shims and it doesn’t work? Then I have to buy u bolts again? Or do most leave them in regardless?

I remember your debate thread on here wondering if you should go OR or Sport. I’m glad you're happy with your final decision finally making it yours.

Hey man so if you’re just running the Dakars, your lift is about 2” correct? I thought I read that the shim should be about 1 degree per inch of lift which would mean I should get a 2 degree shim. Any reason for the 3 degree?

Also when I put my truck in their system it said to use these: The ones you linked to said I need to drill if I have Dakars. So not sure the difference

When my lift (OME springs and dampers) was done there were shims put in behind the TC between the frame and the driveshaft bearing. Lowering the driveshaft just a bit. Perhaps a 1/4", no vibration or rattles

Someone before you said you can use a c-clamp to hold the leafs together without removing the leaf pack from the truck. Seems legit if you think about it unless i'm missing something.

Yeah, I only got the 2" as advertised. Maybe your HD pack... even though you took a leaf out... its still higher or stiffer than the dedicated medium pack.

You are persistent, I’ll give you that.
This measurement is from center of 16” OR wheel to edge of fender

I can see that working. Better have some solid jacks setup

Guess taking out that leaf made a difference because after wheeling my leafs don’t have much “U” bend to them. Likely do Alcans next
