Hyluxtek HID kit with CNLight ball bulbs

Got them working. Plugged the signal directly to the lights. Appreciate the help.

 

So something went wrong with my install. Mounted ballasts on both sides, installed drivers side HID bulb, passenger side old halogen for comparison.
Turned headlights on, 4300K HID noticeably whiter than halogen. Changed out passenger side to HID. Turned lights on, passenger side flashed and then nothing. Switched drivers and passengers HID bulb, now neither side works? Switched HIDS back again and now neither side HID works?
Put old halogens back in and both work, so not fuses. Initially swapped out to 20 amp fuse while waiting for relay harness to arrive so its not that fuse.
What am I missing?

 

Sounds like your fuse blew to me. I would just replace that fuse and keep halogen until relay harness arrives.
Edit... maybe the OEM wireing cant take the load of the HIDs

 

If the fuse blew then the halogens wouldn't work but they do? I put the halogens back in and they work. Didn't change any fuses.

 

Only thing I can think of then would be the trucks original wireing cant handle the initial start up of the HIDs

 

Fixed it, replaced the H11-to-9006 adapters on both sides and now all is good.

 

Do you guys have an active link for these on ebay ? Or is there another buying source available?

 

I purchased a Bussman Relay box to install in my Tacoma and have used before in my JKU and was very happy with this solution. My question is can this relay box be used instead of the heavy duty external harness?

Yeah they’re great lights I’ve had them in my truck maybe 1.5 years. I recommend the 4300k. Also the diode dynamics harness had to be replaced because of corrosion, their customer service was great too!

 

Has anyone purchased this kit with 6000k instead of the 4300? Seems most people are going with the 4300. I'd like the light color to match the DRL. I assumed the 6000k would be a better match.

Also what is canbus vs non canbus?

 

4300k matches just fine and you don’t need the canbus

Canbus is equipped in many newer vehicles. Basically it will give you dash errors with HIDs and LEDs so you buy canbus versions to Prevent dash errors

DRL are more blue than 4300. At least they are more blue than my 4500k from morimoto. 5000 or 5500 would be closer

 

I have the 4300k and it’s the same white that my bmw has. It’s the best temperature IMO because you start loosing lumens as you go to a higher colour temp.

 

So with this kit, I just need to mention that I want the ball type h11b bulbs correct? I don't have to specify that I want non canbus ballasts since the item already specifies A2088 correct?

Manufactory88 on eBay cannot be trusted. I placed an order over a month ago with them and have passed the estimated delivery date with no sign on the parts. The tracking number that was sent does not work, it appears a label was created but never entered the system. Lastly, I have made 3 attempts to contact them and have not received one response. I’ll be opening up a PayPal dispute to hopefully get my money back.

I figured this was going to happen after I first tried contacting them about the tracking number that never worked. When I didn’t receive a response, I knew the bulbs and ballasts were never coming. I placed an order to Diode Dynamics for one of their kits with the relay harness, it came in 3 days. I even changed bulb color halfway through the order and was able to pick up the phone and talk to another human being, I didn’t have to send a message across the world, hoping and waiting for someone to never respond. One of the bulbs from Diode Dynamics was defective, and was a purplish color. I again called them up on the phone and they sent out 2 new bulbs and I had those in 3 days again. I can’t imagine if I had gotten a defective bulb from Manufactory88, what a nightmare that would have been. All is well now, the lights look great... except for the fact that some company in China has my money and never even shipped anything out.

Lesson learned: Don’t be a cheap ass and spend an extra $30 to get from a US company that stands behind their product... plus you’ll actually get it, in 3 days none the less.

 

Is the kit from diode dynamics the same kit you get from eBay just more expensive? Or are the bulbs different? Also does anyone have the 6k bulbs. I wanted my light a bit brighter than the 4300k everyone’s getting

 

Okay I’m a noob in this topic. But the 6k will put out the same amount of light as the 4300k but will appear whiter to the eyes? Does that seem right or am I missing the point?

 

6k will look more blue and is worse for seeing at night and in the rain. The higher you go, the bluer the light and less usable it will be. 4300 is the best for vision, white 5k is closest to actual white. I've run 6k, 5k and 4300 in previous vehicles and 4300 is the best I've had. Even 5k is too blue for me.

 

this is true. for best color matching across all your lights stick with 4300k. 5000 is more blue and doesn't quite match the other lights but some prefer the color. i wouldn't go beyond 5000 tho, looks weird and low output.

 

They are the same exact brand, CNLight bulbs and Hyluxtek ballasts. They have the relay kit everyone is talking about too so you just place one order for everything. BTW, use the relay harness, it’s stupid not to. The factory wiring may not burn up, but it’s not rated for the amperage of the HID’s. It’s super easy to wire up to, just follow the OP installation instructions. I tucked the wire for the passenger headlight under the radiator support and trim panel and you can’t even see it.
