I used the plug and play harness from Taco Tunes, signal for the sub and amp turn on lead.

I am sure its a good product, but wow. I'd rather spend 700 on some front armor. But thats just me.

I used a line output converter. Tap into the stock rear speaker and it converts the signal to rca so it will run the amp.

That amp turn on from taco tunes, does it work like a remote wire or is it from the accessory wire, which turn the amp on and it stays on as long as the truck is switched on? Thanks.

But that is kind of like saying $700 On front armor? I would rather spend $700 on a LED TV... not even apples to oranges comparison that's more like apples to bacon... lol

The OP was for a sub enclosure. JL Audio makes well built, well engineered sub enclosures with great subs. The cubic inches required for 2 - 10s is likely going to require you remove the plastic behind the seats, you may be able to get super creative with fiberglass and get 2 - 10s in there without losing the plastic but it would be tight and likely cost you more than $700 if you arent building it yourself.

The JL Audio stealth boxes are a great alternative to building custom boxes for a pretty good price. Good car audio is EXPENSIVE!

Go to a reputable car audio shop and tell them to build you a custom box that is built and tuned to exact speaker manufacturer specs, that fits and looks like OEM (like the JL Stealth box does) for under $500.

First they will laugh then they will tell you that YOU are the one smoking crack.

I worked at a very reputable custom mobile audio store in Seattle doing installs and sales for years. I was MECP Master certified and MPS certified. The JL Stealth boxes are built and tuned to work perfectly with their subs. If I was to go back into car audio (I competed successfully for years) and I didn't want to custom build something myself or have something custom built at retail, for twice the price, my second choice would be a JL Stealth box hands down.

If you know anything about CAR audio, you know that what you get from a subwoofer is about 20% woofer and 80% enclosure. A good installer can make a $80 subwoofer perform like something 4x as expensive, but a garbage sub box can make a $700 reference woofer sound like something you bought for $80 just as easily.

+1 on the JL Audio Stealthbox. Put one in a 1st gen access cab. Paired with JL audio amp it sounds incredible and still rock solid today.

I had the stealthbox and it was a great setup for the money. Little pricey yes, but like SCJeffro said, you cannot get a custom fiberglass enclosure locally for cheap. I got rid of the sub because i wanted to go with dual 10's so I'm running a pair of 10TW3-D4's now.

Not saying it wasnt custom, but that custom box will fit in mine and your truck. I think it needs to be mass produced also cost can come down.

I have the JL stealthbox with the plug & play amp and amp rack from *********. I know is a little pricey, but is well worth it. I had the JBL system in my previous taco. There is no comparison the quality sound of the JL stealthbox is amazing

This is my setup now. Dual JL 10TW3-D4 in custom box I made myself, Rockford 5 channel for doors and Rockford mono for subs. I still need to work on the upper part to finish it off.2018-08-03 17.17.26.jpg
