Curious as what the highest we've seen is. I just saw an old segment from a dealership channel of a man who had 700,000+ miles on his Tacoma.

    https://youtu.be/bNuMLHKbsU4

Anyone seen this? Is this the confirmed highest or...?

How often do people pass the 500,000 mark?

I had a 1987(pre-Tacoma) 4x4 sc swb with the old 22R 4 cyl. Hit 680,000 miles. I bought the truck brand new for $9,800. It had no radio, no A/C, no carpet... Nothing. It had no lift but I ran Buckshot mudders on it and used it in the swamps in South Alabama hunting wild hogs almost everyday. I literally could not tear the truck up!

I did see something about 6 months ago where an oilfield worker in Texas went over 1 million with his Tundra. Toyota wanted to take the truck and tear down the engine and drivetrain just to see how it had worn over the years. If I remember correctly, the truck was only 12-14 years old.

With the old inline 2.2L from the 80’s to early 90’s there were many commercials with people at 1 million miles..don’t see it mentioned anymore since they canned the engine..

1.2 million miles is about 60,000 gallons of gas. At $2.50/gal, that's $150K in gas alone!

    Sure Jeff.

Did he put in a new odometer that would actually count miles over 999,999?

My dad drives the same 98 (3.4) that I drove in high school. The odometer reads 248,000 and it stopped working around 06-07.
