If I wasn't so picky I could make it work, but I just never been one to rig stuff up and say good enough.

From you I wouldn't expect anything less than OEM like fit being permissable either. Bummer.

Finally got around to fixing the crooked driver's side seat trim piece that covers the mechanisms for sliding seat back and forth. I guess the plastic just wears out of place after a while and I'm sure I'll have to do it again, but looks good for now. One of those simple OCD things. Before and after.

Any 95.5-00 owners have a picture of the trim piece that goes on the outboard rail of the from seat that covers the bolt holding the seat to the floor? I found one pic in google images where this part looks taller than the 01-04

Thank you suspicion confirmed. the early trim piece is taller. I guess in the 00-04 years they just made the leg longer and omitted the bushing. I'll go stop in at the dealer and see if these can be still be had

Crossed a big milestone this weekend. After 20 years of back breaking daily driving and weekend warrior work my 1st gen finally gets to retire and put it's feet up to be pulled around by it's new big brother.

To celebrate, I mounted some new retirement slippers and gave it a nice wash (ran of a light so that'll continue into today). I'm not sure if I like the polished aluminium rock guard on the new rims. What do you guys think? Should I paint them black

It really is remarkable just how far trucks have come in 20 years.

Haa...yeah, I think the assembly line got stuck at the shifter station and they just kept throwing more in. :curls:

You'll have excuse the mess, the steering rack threw up all over itself in the middle of the crawler instillation and I've been playing catch up ever since.

Kind of looks like the little dog trying to bluff the big dog out of it's yard to me.

    Congrats on the new truck!

Which crawl box are you running, and how tough was the triple shifter install?

    Thanks!

Not today, but finished writing up the story of the De-Tour - an adventure that @Blackdawg, @m3bassman, @Digiratus, @Speedytech7, @drr, @IDtrucks, and @Glenn_R took some 14 months ago. Was quite the trip - so much so that we had to bail on the original plan after breaking Frankenstein for the last time (well, to date anyway).

Monte and I both wrote up versions of the adventure - it's a long one, but check it out.

Man, I have fiber optic internet at home (fast) and I still have to let some of those pages load for a few minutes so I can read them without it jumping around, lol

So many awesome photos, thanks for sharing. Really makes me want to leave work and just drive my truck someplace away from civilization.
