Yea I use it to get my macros and meals planned then I don't do anything with it. I eat pretty much the same stuff so there's no point in logging shit everyday

Got coerced into running in a charity race this morning. 10k/6.2mi in 51:12. I’ll take it considering I haven’t ran more than a mile in over a year.

Also quickly remembered why I havent ran more than a mile in over a year. Haha.

So I have experienced the most intense myofacial release experience of my life.

I was struggling with Piriformis Syndrome in my hip since late last year. Got to the point where I couldn't squat anymore. So I quit, changed my workouts and added a stretching routine. Took a few months but cured 95% of it.

Last week I started getting godawful pain in my hip starting after my sprint work on Weds. Kept getting worse until I couldn't get out of my truck when I got home from work on Friday and I couldn't feel my foot (sciatica). Had my buddy walk me to the living room where I was told to lay on a tennis ball for a few minutes. I did several minutes of foam rolling then had him do the stick over glute and hams with full body weight. Then I had Graston done over my IT band in my hip.

I am bruised solid from the top of my left glute to the back of my knee.

Goes down as one of the most painful experiences of my life. I feel like the stage probably feels when @Newlife competes.

PT apt scheduled for first thing after the holidays. Lets hope zero issues till then. :fingerscrossed:

Not a shameful time for a non-runner

    I like 10Ks. 15Ks are my favs.
5K's are probably the most brutal races.

It just makes tracking macros easy, if you’re into that. I like it.
Hope they get you straightened out!

15k would be tough. I don’t think I could just randomly do that without training for it. I definitely need to invest in some running shoes. 10k in flat trainers sucked a big one. My feet are killing me this morning. Any recommendations on a brand, or is it pretty much equal across the board?

I have a great PT. He'll get me fixed up.

I am an Asics and Saucony fan. My rule of thumb with shoes is I didn't buy anything that retailed under $100. Cheapy ones wear out fast. A quality pair of shoes should last about 500 miles.

If you never have, you may want to go to a running store and have them fit you and have you jump on a treadmill for analysis. Let you know if you need to be in a shoe with more or less support. As you run you'll find out what shoes work for you.

All of the major running brands are great: Asics, Brooks, Mizuno, Saucony, Salomon, Altra, etc.

Thanks for the tips. No more than I run, a good pair should last me a long long time. Will be nice to be comfortable when I do.

I used to run 30-50 miles per week and alternated 3 pairs of shoes.
    It got expensive.

Since I started lifting a pair of Sauconys have lasted me two years lol.

I use MFP, it’s just acting weird. Logging me out, changing #’s etc. I swear I’m going to have to do a spreadsheet.

I don’t run, but one of my friends used to compete. He went to “Run-On” which is basically a shoe store based exclusively on running shoes/gear. If you don’t have one of those around, try to find a specialty shoe store, it’s more involved than just picking out a pair you like.

I finally bench pressed 225! I know high school kids warm up with that, but it's taken me a year to hit that weight. I didn't even plan to max out, but my warm up felt super light so I went for it. Body weight 165.
