I think they are just messing with you... all of the Pro grills are the same color...

They may be the same grill. The one I ordered had the removable center piece with the letters AND the first and last letter were stick on.

    Hope this helps!

The part number that I ordered was 53101-04050-C0

The part number that they said went with that truck is 53101-04050-A0

I googled both part numbers, and it seemed like they had a different color bezel around the outside. I told them to stick with the 53101-04050-C0 - hopefully that's the right move

Just get the OEM grille and don't bother with the cheap Chinese ones on Amazon and eBay. The new 2018 OEM grille is cheaper than most of the fakes too.

Search Google for "PT228-35180". Pick one that's around $170 that shows they are available. There are a few on the first page alone, I just checked. MUST PUT IN A TRD PRO VIN WHEN ORDERING. If you do not, it will get rejected.

Keep looking. There should be a dealer more local to you that will have much less shipping. I found one a few hours away from me and shipping was only $12.

These are not the right part numbers listed in the first page of this thread. Everyone has had success ordering a different part number (PT228-35180). I don't know what it is that you ordered. I checked out the part number you provided, it looks to be the right piece, but I don't understand why Toyota would make 2 part numbers for the same thing. Take a picture of what comes in your box, I have a feeling it won't be the Pro grill but some other part related to it.

Now you have me worried! I guess I'll know tomorrow when it arrives. I got that part number from somewhere on this forum, not sure if it was this thread or not. This is the link that I actually ordered it from:

    https://www.oempartworld.com/oem-parts/toyota-upper-grille-5310104050c0

And it says it will fit a 2018 Tacoma TRD Pro....

I found two different part diagrams for the front grill assembly. One shows it as the grill, the other shows it as the colored surround that pulls off with the grill. Based on the color options, it only makes sense that it's the surround. Time will tell.
If it is the grill, then it looks like it's a cheaper part number to use.

I see what you're saying about that part number and the link you included. The diagram is slightly misleading, because it also includes the grill surround piece... Which is color coordinated to the truck color. The part number PT228-35180, doesn't include a diagram pointing to which part it is. But it also doesn't note an option for color, because all TRD Pro grills are the same color. Everyone has been ordering PT228-35180 and successfully receiving a TRD Pro grill...

I'm hoping you receive a TRD Pro grill, if you do, then you successfully found a cheaper way to get a TRD Pro grill! Take a picture of what comes in your box, but I think you ordered this piece that I have professionally outlined in red.

Edit: As suspected, Toyota corporate has caught on at your vendor too. This is the listing for part number PT228-35180 on the website you listed. Additionally you would want to order part numbers: 53141-35060 (lens garnish) and 88214-04020 (longer wiring harness, not necessary, but nice to use if you want to tuck your wiring harness and not see it through the gaps on the TRD Pro grill).

Edit 2: This makes me a little more certain that you ordered the surround. This part number is 52711-04020, which is more similar to the part number you ordered (53101-04050). And the last piece that bothers me is that it notes the color as chrome when not implemented on the TRD Pro. On your part number, the color is noted as the same color as the body color. Now the main point here is that, yes, when you change from a TRD OR to a TRD Pro grill, you remove the chrome ring around the grill and simply stick in the TRD Pro grill as it doesn't use that part. But the key thing to note here is that the part number that you entered makes sense to be the part adjacent to that chrome ring, which is the ring that I outlined in red in the picture below.

Once again, I hope I'm wrong because then that will mean there is still a way to get OEM TRD Pro grills at a good price at the moment.

I don't understand this TSS system and maybe y'all can shed some light... I've got a China grill, no garnish and I get the intermittent issue with the TSS system not working. That being said, I see the TSS garnish is just a plain ol full piece of plastic. If I slip a chunk of plastic in front of my sensor should it fix the issue?

I can confirm. I just ordered this from same place. Originally I put incorrect VIN# and got an email saying they could refund it because I don't have TRD Pro and cannot order. I just gave another VIN# and said "I messed up originally".

He confirmed my order and it is being shipped.

I recently hit a deer and they are going to install it for me free of charge when they replace quarter panel and fix bumper.

Just to give everyone an update, OR4x4 is right, its the bezel. Sadly it arrived today, and that's what I got. I guess I got a little hasty with my part ordering...

Yeah I'm trying to get ahold of them now. Hopefully I can convince them that their legitimately ambiguous diagram is a least partially to blame for this error, and get them to ship me the actual grille...
