I have a week to wait for my ECGS bearing replacement to get here, how much wear am I causing by driving the truck? Should I keep as many miles off of it while I wait or will not much happen in a weeks time?

I put a leveling kit on the pickup about 6k miles ago and I’ve had a rotational vibration I’ve felt and heard for about a week now and most threads I’ve read it’s been The needle bearing so I ordered one and now waiting for it to get here. There is a small bit of play on my CV as well

I dont think a needle bearing goes out that quickly, especially on a new truck. It might be driveline vibes from lifting the angles. Put the truck in 4wd and if the vibe goes away it's the needle bearing, if not you get to play the fun game of "what do I shim?"

If its not excessive I wouldnt worry about it. I drove mine for a while when the vibe arrived and there was no damage to anything when I installed the ECGS. I wouldnt drive cross country but normal local driving you should be fine.

If you do a search someones needle bearing decided to shatter into pieces and that was an expensive fix and tedious to clean up if your a DIY’ed.

    Good luck.

Ok interesting, a few different ideas here. Thanks guys. I put the shins in to keep the diff stock so it wouldn’t change the angle of the driveline but nothing is ever perfect after altering it. I will try driving it around in 4H and see if the vibration persists or if it stops. Regardless I’ll have the bearing to put in anyway

I would recommend you don't drive around 24/7 in 4h, but rather find a straight road where you can get up to the speed of the vibrations and then throw it into 4h for a few to see if it goes away. *Generally*, you don't wanna stay in 4h on dry pavement unless you're going straight.
