Looks to be a 4 cyl. Cummins....Shouldnt be too heavy. Now....if it were the 5.9....that would be a different story..

It looks like the 3.3 or 3.9 liter version of the Cummins B motor. 5.9 is the inline 6 B motor common in Dodges.

EDIT- I went back and read the article. It's the 3.3. That's a sweet set up.

The single cab trucks weight is about 5000 lbs. We have had the up to 67 mph and they drive nice. The engine is a QSB 3.3L 110 HP and 306 lbs/ft.

Heavier than the 1GR-FE I believe though. It would be sweet though. I want a turbo diesel Tacoma that would be really sweet.

The turbo weighs about 570#, so its not a huge weight penalty.

Not really that bad...my regular cab with 33's weighs in at 4250, so considering the weight of the diesel engine and all that extra steel, not bad. How much would one of those run for the diesel swap and solid axle swap, if I got to choose my own axle?

Complete, turnkey 2010 vehicle, about $62K. Keep in mind, trucks are built to run 24/7 and never see a paved road.

It kind of looks retarded to me for some reason...

Like it's cool, but it doesn't seem like they did it right. (In regards to the SAS, the engine looks good.)
