How to get dealership to fix seeping rear diff?

How should I deal with a stealership that refuses to fix something on my truck under warranty? The problem I’m having is my rear diff is seeping oil but my truck isn’t on the recall list so the dealer basically told me they can’t do anything to fix it. My biggest problem is that it’s a warranty issue at this point, the rear diff shouldn’t leak, weep, or seep ever and they should fix it without question

 

Call corporate and start a claim through them. Explain that the dealership is refusing to address a problem under warranty.

 

Only issue I have with that is I’m not sure how corporate would look at the lift kit and bigger tires, they might try to pin the leak on me because of it

Nowadays a lot of companies care enough about social media that they monitor it. I have found that posting legitimate complaints on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc has produced results.

Almost 20k, mostly highway

 

Agree with post above. I would make an appointment to speak to customer care representative at dealership and let them know this is the last attempt to resolve the issue at the dealership level.

You have the option of asking for remediation with Toyota corporate.

Yea maybe try a different dealer. Prob the easiest solution if you have another dealer nearby.

 

There’s plenty of dealers near-by, there’s one right down the road. I have to admit I’ve never gone to another dealer for service/repair I would just call and ask to make an appointment, right?

 

Should be that easy, tell the service advisor your truck has a leaking diff and would like an appointment

 

I suppose they can look up in the Toyota database and see that I have an extended warranty, right?

 

Yep, your VIN will be in the system

 

Make sure you have the work order in writing refusing repair so that if something were to happen you are covered.
Make them aware of this also.

Go to same dealer first and get the paperwork, then call corporate. Otherwise its a he said I said type thing.
I bet corporate jumps on it pronto. No sense you running around.

 

Take it to another dealer. I can’t believe some of the goofy knucklehead dealers that can’t
fix a simple problem. Evidently that dealership does not use certified mechanics.
