I hear ya bro....I was a little taken back myself at first...but TW means well...these guys are just no nonsense especially when it comes to certain topics!

I think its more the way you "responded" (your verbiage) to everyone's response to your post, rather then your initial posting.

Regardless of TW tact (or lack their ofo_O) these guys and gals wont steer you wrong! These peeps know tacomas!

I’d get a rear bumper way before a front. This isn’t your CJ. That caboose hangs way out there and will get hung up much more than the front.

I’d also take those stock steps off ASAP as it will multiply the damage.

isnt the rear hitch mount integrated/bolted to the stock bumper center? would like to retain the towing capability.. possibly even raise the receiver...

Most bumpers incorporate a built in raised hitch. Brings the hitch assembly up about 6" higher.

Pretty much all aftermarket bumpers have a hitch integrated into it behind where the license plate sits. That’s how it gets nice and tucked up.

yeah, not looking to cut the fenders just yet.. although I do like that the bedsides are replaceable... those baja rear fenders are kinda cool if you get the rubber and suspension to fill them..

This guy’s no noob to arb, must have first hand experience with it too I’m assuming since he’s so quick to shut them out.

Anyways, people say you don’t need a front locker are absolutely correct, but I activate my front locker before needed and crawl up what others may struggle with. Did they need the locker to make it, no, but I look a lot cooler creeping than they do having to try hard.

Don’t go buying a front locker without gears, I did, but I also installed myself. Therefore it’s not like when I decide to regear I’ll be paying install twice or at all since I have learned to do this myself.

Also, how about posting your Instagram since you said overlanding build and link us your YouTube. I’d like to see the trails you’re doing to use the lockers?

I live in the great north.. air compressors, and air lines/fittings fail in these cold temps (plastic in particular doesnt take kindly to low temps, and temperature shocks.... I'm not knocking ARB, they do make some great products... just not what I consider rugged for the climate I am in.. I am looking at the axle breather kit, and probably some of their other gear..

when I was building my jeep I was looking into OX lockers for their solid reliability, and the fact that it can be trail fixed with a pair of vise grips.. some of the trails I got into with my jeep you couldnt get out without a winch, or a locker, sometimes both....

I have the tools to do my own install... have done it before in a D30, and a ford 8.8 (eaton e-locker) tacos actually look a lot easier.. especially the rear... side adjusters, and a removeable 3rd member... havent seen the inside of the front clamshel.. dunno if its a shim setup, or adjusters like the rear..

If you plan on off-roading your Tacoma down trails a decently built wrangler can take on or even a stock rubicon your gonna have a bad time.

The trucks are great off-road, but they’re still trucks. Not knocking Tacoma’s in any way.

Also I’m fairly sure ARB could answer your questions on extreme temps.

Yes there’s maintenance with airlines, but it’s well worth it in my opinion, but I also live in the south east where harsh environments only mean yellow dust (pollen) and insane humidity

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QE8w4vn8bSE&t=59s <-- this is the type of trail and experience I want to have..

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_oGAl-OBM8

the trails around here are like this loose soil, rocks, water, lots of trees... but there are also some NASTY mudholes that have been cut into the forrest floor and contain mud of all types.. lots of clay, and silty bottoms...I had one hole that was an off camber mudhole and the ground level was above the jeep.. I dont plan on taking the tacoma there... it's instant body damage there...

11078232_10152862706007794_7065032741688468841_n.jpg 1929504_9013687793_6900_n.jpg this is my 1974 jeep after finnishing the frame off build, and engine.. the CJ-5 was nearly as capable as my buddies 92YJ with a 350/350, NP231, and 35's with a rear locked 8.8, and a front D44 with limited slip. obviously it got some paint since then....

That's what I was going to suggest.
I've looked into them a lot as same reason I don't want to do the full on board air etc

Heard many good reviews they're very common in Australia

    This
If I ever end to doing front locker, I'll be doing Harrop

And rear has always got me through so far. And the trails I go on are probably a bit tougher than any Overland trails
Just saying but he has front and rear ARB and lives in likely a worse climate than you, I had front and rear in my Jeep and I'm in southern/Central Ontario same if not worse climate.

And although I have heard the same about ARB compressors in a few reviews I never had issues and truthfully I've heard a lot more positive than negative reviews.

most 'Overland' barely even needs the rear locker nevermind a front and rear.

And one of the guys I wheel with has the dual Arb and he fills his 35s faster than my higher end viair can fill my 33s
