Thanks for the correction. I've only seen a few lines run overhead. They had pumps but I'm by no means an expert. Good to know.

Previous home owner put up the wall over the line . Off topic, he passed away in his/my living room and I think he checks on his house sometimes. I had some doors upstairs leaning on a wall that I painted and tools on a bench. It was a Sunday night and I was up late because I worked the third. I heard a noise upstairs sounded like something fell off the bench or one of the doors felt. I went upstairs to investigate And there was nothing nothing . No dust in the air anything. I said excuse me sir just trying to make improvements on your house. sounds funny but It happened again for the next two weekends

It is actually a Pensotti. Triple pass low mass like a Buderus, about 30 years old. Think it was 86% efficient last he checked. I have been going through less than 500 gallons of oil heating a 1500 sq ft house built in the 50s so I can't complain. Other than one circulator last winter it has been great. He told me to run the thing until it has an issue he can't fix due to parts availability or something.

It is likely way oversized for the house. 151 MBH. It did have domestic hot water on it before I tore it out and has a basement zone that I don't use, but my guy told me even still he thinks I should be more like half that number. Fortunately it doesn't seem to guzzle oil as a result.

I have done this when it's fluffy, best way IMO if the snow is right for it.

I also find if its too wet it isn't worth it since it won't throw very far anyways.

When I was using a blower, for me it was more the square footage that was involved than the weight/depth of the snow. I'd shovel the walk and ignore the rest of the driveway if we just got a couple of inches, but if we got enough to bother with clearing the driveway I'd break out the snowblower and use it on the front walk while I was at it.

Not very common. Most shops like billing thr labor of dogging up the od line, and installing a coated line. Plus, the issues of priming/bleeding and overhead. There are limits. My buddy hates them...

Woah.. cool. Havent seen one in a long time(though, in my defense, I shouldnt... I am not a reisdential tech).

Yep, at 86%, let it run.

He was intrigued by the thing too...said he had never seen one in the wild and thought they were more common closer to the Canadian border.

Other than it almost definitely being oversized he had nothing but praise for it.

I used to use it for just about any amount and just set it at it's fastest speed because it was still quicker than shoveling. I acquired chains and a tiny plow for my lawn tractor though and that seems to work great for 3-5 inches and is much quicker than either other option.

Any more than that and I think I will need to use the blower. There is only so much a lawn tractor can push.

It isn't flawless, so not much point if you are far away. It is probably better than a crack though. I took it off when I put heated mirrors on my 2011 and it has been sitting in the garage ever since.

I want a big tractor with a huge front mount blower. By the time I'm done building a tractor that will handle it, a super duty is looking cheap

That's awesome, how did you like it? Guy in that video is flying at some points. Do you have any idea what one of those goes for? I might have to win the lottery but that thing is amazing.

They go for over 100k new but you can find decent ones used for around 60k. They're fun as hell to drive but I can tell you that they are also scary as fuck when something crosses it's path that's not supposed to... chunked a deer at about 35mph through the shoot....frozen blood everywhere. At first I thought it was a person becuase there was a private contractor plow truck with the door open in the same area...shit my pants, full emergency stopped it and then hopped out to check the chunks essentially only to see the plow driver hopping back in after taking a piss.

I’m guessing $800,000 because the new cat loader I am in cost About $250,000.
And that looks much more impressive than this POS machine

Anything more than a few inches and I break out the snow blower. A couple inches of light, fluffy snow and I use a shovel. I figure if I have it, I might as well use it.
I’m all for the electronic tolling, just not happy now that it made me deal with EZ Pass MA, they suck.
