The fuck would any overlander need a crawl box for? That's pretty much rock crawling only.
And the cost of a crawl box will be more than a locker

already did.. kinda pricey considering you have to modify both driveshafts, and I dont think it will work with the crawl control (mine needs servicing (jerky in settings 1-2, not that the crawler box setup needs it..)) that dual box reduction vid on youtube was rediculous....

no, and honestly after trying it out.. I think its kinda gimmicky... but could be useful in steep descents..

As many have said Overlanding doesn't usually have much rock crawling to it. And that's really the only place a locker would make a world of difference.

Honestly for what it's worth go watch any 4wd action video on YouTube from Australia .Realize the guy Graham in the Isuzu d max is completely open diff and on 32" tires
Tell me any of the 'overland' you'd do would be even worse than the hell that guy puts his truck through and gets through and I'll believe you NEED a locker and not just WANT a locker.
And remember that truck is the same size and pretty much the same capability as your TRD offroad would be with similiar tires and bar work

I had to laugh when the fast lane truck did a review of the TRD pro, and tried to offroad a hill with nothing but the crawl control engaged... it was painful to watch..

No need for crawl control with a crawl box .

It does everything CC does without the technology and just torque multiplying

It's more so for rock and I don't really agree with the mud idea

The main way for mud is momentum and spinning the tires to clear the lugs if you have mud tires .

None of with you'd be doing when using a dual case.

I loved it when he used the starter to crawl up the hill... it's definitly an option, but i wonder about long term, would love to hear some long term users chime in with using it for a DD, and I'm guessing it voids the factory drivetrain warranty..

I get it, you are all opposed to front lockers.. you all think im nuts for thinking this is a great mod to have (MUCH LATER) I'm just researching what is available now. just thought tacomas would have a bigger aftermarket support.

    Would definitely void warranty

It's a waste if you're not a dedicated rock rig.
You're talking upwards of 7k for a crawl box with install and where it really shines is rock and to be doing the rock crawling it should be used for needs 37s+

Even Mike said in those videos it's more just to show what it can do that a triple case is overkill and pointless.
And unless you're planning on doing a. Dedicated rock crawler it's pointless

Front lockers normally go on a dedicated trail rig. To have on a daily weekend warrior shit. Nope
