Yea, then the car would be paid for and potentially other debt as well. That would put us in a much better position.

Lots of folks scare the shit out of you, but my experience is kids aren’t expensive. If you know where to shop you can take care of clothes and toys for real cheap. Diapers, well you’re just screwed there. We had a shower and all
Jessi’s friends brought varying sizes of diapers so we literally didn’t buy any for the first 9 months of either of my daughters lives lol.

Can you get the whole truck? Getting the wiring harness ECU and all the other bits would be very advantageous. Then you know that it's right for what you have.

Oh yeah second hand stores, consignment shops, goodwill etc don't be ashamed to go cheap they grow out of clothes almost as fast as diapers. Good point!!!! My kid only gets a few outfits a yr that are brand new the rest come from said used sources. I hand down her clothes to friends or give them to the goodwill as well.

Can confirm. My son is 4 right now and besides diapers, wipes, and batteries...not very expensive. Kids grow out of clothes too fast to buy them anything new. Jen and I hit all the thrift stores everywhere we went and cleaned shop if the prices were reasonable (no more than a couple bucks but on average was about $.25). Same with toys...bought used and cleaned up but most were gifts (as well as clothes). Some things you’re just going to have to spend some money on (certain play yards, shoes, etc if you really need them) but if you keep in mind the age and cognitive ability at said age, you’ll realize most things you think you’re doing for the child are more for the adults (big parties, Disney cruise, Jordan’s, etc.). Obviously when the time is right, you’ll be doing those things but you also won’t be spending hundreds of dollars a month on diapers and wipes either.

Advice on the Icons on your wheeling trip out west bring a grease gun with you and lube them after you get off the trails. They have grooves in the joint that the dirt will go into and you'll want to disperse it out of the joint. I let mine ooze out pretty good. Also I lube mine once a month or so because they are a maintenance heavy joint and will end up squeaking if you don't.

Kinda why I was recc the JBAs to ya. Icons are good just kind of a PITA to me.

Yup...I recycle Michaels clothes and toys back into the used pool for the next family if I don’t have somebody to give them to.

...speaking of which, I’ve got multiple hundreds of size 5 diapers if anybody needs them.

My nanny's kid is a little younger than mine and she gets first dibs. Secretly it's just easier for me to get the old shit out of the house than to bag it up and take it to the goodwill.

The advice about the parties and such is spot on. I am very frugal when it comes to that stuff.

That is what we were thinking as well. The first bit is relatively cheap. I think it is when they get into school and child care you start spending their inheritance!

I don't need diapers anymore except nightime pullups :(. I wish she would hurry up and grow out of this night time wetting deal. So frustrating.

Still sounds better than the uniballs. If I don't keep them wiped clean and put a few drops of that lube stuff on there they squeak like crazy.

I’ve got a 6 and 4 year old. Even school age ain’t bad. But my wife is stay at home mom so child care isn’t necessary.

    Same here homie..

Sucks cause it’s a deficiency of a particular hormone and unrelated to outside factors (generally speaking) besides chugging water before bed

I wasn't kidding about Advance Auto Parts hiring. Seems like they always are. I worked for them at @Shibbyjeep store on the weekends a while back when I was putting together money for armor. Mostly Saturdays, but a Sunday here and there. It wasn't hard, kinda fun sometimes, and hell, I learned a few things while I was there, too.

Well my sister got married in July and left her camera at my parents house. It was a used camera from my aunt for her graduation. I think it's going to go missing for a little while so I can play around with it.

Depends on how you do childcare where you go etc. I would start researching and such. Usually churches are cheap in comparison.

Daycare is a killer. We pay more for after school care than we do our monthly mortgage.

Nice! keep that mirror covered up! Keeps dust and other things from getting in there. PITA to clean and it could get damaged. T3i is a pretty good camera for experimenting.

Yeah I think hers is more of how she sleeps. She is dead to the world when she's out. Also mom and dad have 2 different sets of schedules etc. It's tougher trying to co-parent because there are more factors that can come into play. But she's getting there. She's finally starting to wake up and go sometimes or hold it through the night.

On school days getting her up in the morning is like waking the dead that's why I say I think it's just how hard she sleeps.
