Yep, along with other things about our world, we are f**ked, lemmings that keep heading towards the cliff.

Can't stand that cr*p. I write our schedule at work and was told by the flight chief to facilitate the schedule for people with kids. So basically because you choose to have kids the rest of us have to work the crappy, mid shifts, weekends, morning shifts, etc.

Just what I need. Another thread to suck up my time. But here I am anyway!

I’m 33, married to my best friend who, like me, is absolutely resolute in never having kids. He’s a chemist, I’m a doctor. Hopefully I can chat with people on here who get my references to Star Trek and Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Now to touch on topics already mentioned.

    1) Student loans? Ha! I’m sure I got y’all beat by a mile. Try having over $350,000 in student loans. I barf every month when the payment comes out of my account.

    2) Hubby is a volleyball and basketball player and these pick-up game/rec league games with people his age can be awesome to watch. Imagine 12 incredibly athletic, 6’4”, 220 pound gay guys on a court who LIVE to be bitches with each other when they play sports. It’s delightful.

    3) I’ve had ups and downs with my Tacoma, but I’ve learned to embrace it. And hopefully I’ll be happier when the dealership fixes my clutch. And if anyone is in the Salt Lake area and wants help working on their truck, I have a heated/air conditioned garage with a 4-post lift and big screen TV. Hit me up!

Ha! Happy to have you over.

I’ve wanted this garage since I was 13 years old. I would play a game with my parents in the car on road trips and I could name every other car on the road at night just by their headlights or taillights. Cars are my favorite thing ever. I’ve worked damned hard for decades and I have zero regrets dumping money in to my “man-cave.”

Super jealous. My dad always jokes that I should sell cars, since I know so much about them. When I was a kid I'd make him take me to dealers just to look at them on the lots and would order brochures through the mail or in the dealer. Wish I had made the same choices you made to have that garage at 33, eh, at least I'll have summers off as a future teach to ride my dirt bike. Good on you and well deserved for I'm sure was a ton of hard work and persistance.

Every time I buy a car the dealership offers me a job. The manager guy usually says something along the line of “You know more about this car than any of my sales people. Are you SURE you don’t want to do this for a living?”

Once my student loans are gone, I may just consider it!

Yep, I'm the same way, I even helped my parents and brother in law buy their vehicles. Drove both my Dad's new Raptor and Mom's JLU Rubicon before they even did lol. My dream world would be that or a dirt bike dealer, but that's a dying industry.

Feel ya there man. Moto is hit or miss, alot of good people and alot of not so great people. Especially as you get older and friends give it up, harder to make new ones at the track. Plus it's so expensive, lol. I was raised by a single mom, who remarried when I was around 15, so didn't get the whole dirt bike riding/tools/etc. Dad experience and didnt get into the sport until I was 26.

Nice man, ya it can easily consume you, I remember having 3 in the garage, gear out the wazzoo and all the credit card debt that came with it lol. I tried not having a bike for a year and just killed me on the inside. Back as a weekend warrior vet dude, just spinning laps, but yep some interesting characters that ride for sure, try to just stick to myself or the occasional cop / retired vet riding with his kids crowd. You know what they say, you usually are the most common denominator of those you hang around.

This and this. Sorry about your injuries man, have had my share, but nothing that's kept me from not getting back on the bike. Good on you for helping those that need it and sticking around, I know how hard it is to be around it and not a part of it.

Tempted to spin an elaborate web of lies to my next employer. I will present myself as a widower with three daughters that lives with their brother-in-law and goofy friend from high school.

I see both sides of it. I don't have kids but would want to spend the holidays and some of those with my children if I did. However, on the just weekends, morning shifts, etc. I think they do get a hand me out on those. Kind of like smokers who get to take 47 breaks a day but if a none smoker stop a couple of times everyone asks why.

As non-smoking non-breeders, we're already doing them a favor keeping the health bennies cheaper. A favorable schedule is the least they can do.
