Your Tundra is absolutely drool worthy. I may or may not have stalked your IG and that cantilever long travel rear is mighty fine!!

Have had my drifter deposit in since August and my build will start the 2nd week of December according to Phil. One thing I have been debating is the fantastic roof fan option. As of now I am a no on this option as I don't think I will use it. I don't like the noise, and also like the aesthetic of a clean roof line. For those of you that have drifters already, do you use the roof fan much? would you be ok without it? Also curious if anyone has the side panel insulation option and what your thoughts are on that one.

I use that fan every time I use the camper. Every time.

Insulation is still up in the air for me. I have a buddy heater

A lil this a lil that.
Dont have a vagabond..but had a gfc..one of the reasons I'm going to the vagabond are the ventilation options..the gfc without ventilation was gross

Crap...first two responses suggest I get the ventilation. I was partially trying to be a cheap ass and not spend the 300+ extra for the fan.

You got three panels to pop up and a huge tent opening haha. That’s plenty

If you go anywhere north of SoCal, you probably don’t want your entire truck bed exposed all night long for reasons like rain, snow, wind, dust, cold, etc.

    Moderation.

    Check out the build
The CFMs on that fan are no joke. On my V1 if I had it on full blast out it would pull in the tent in as a closed it.

Makes enough sense. I have slept in many roof top tents and have a GFC on order. Sometimes I do consider switching though

I have one of these https://www.amazon.com/OPOLAR-F101-Portable-Rechargeable-Light-Black/dp/B01DZYUN22 (obvs mine is now an investment as they appear to go for $1000)

You could get an entire fleet of them if you wanted. They were everywhere and cheap in Thailand last year when I visited, and come in hundreds of forms, like the newer style https://www.amazon.com/OPOLAR-Operated-Rechargeable-Portable-Personal/dp/B07FJVLDH2

Battery life is great and you could power it all night off USB. It also has a random/cute LED light on it, but they haven't cracked the code of powering both the fan and LED at once, lol.

Also, I usually sleep at altitude and don't remember the last time I needed a fan.

That’s another thing that the guys did great at Vagabond.
If you just need some ventilation while sleeping, you can just open the drop-down sliding window by the cab as well as crack any one of the 3 giant windows up top and you’re set. Plenty of air can circulate throughout the whole camper from top to bottom, because its not seperated.

    +1 for the fan

take the screen off and hit it at full blast for a bit, no more pesky nats and mosquitos.

I use the fan every time I camp. Works great when you wake up hot and need it to cool down immediately so you can sleep more (one time I slept an extra 3 hours while everyone was up and about bc they couldn't be in their tents). I also use it when there's condensation from cold temps outside and Buddy heater on inside. Don't know how fast it works, but there is no more condensation when its time to close up the camper.
