Axle studs hook up surprisingly well in TN mud in an April snow shower

Turns out that retorqing lugs on new aluminum wheels after 100 miles is not just a suggestion. Good news is that every other bolt under my truck is tight after I spent the whole day trying to track down the mystery clunk before this happened

Made the annual freeze your ass off run to Flat Nasty last weekend. Easily one of my favorite trips of the year. Great time with good weather...50’s during the day and high 20’s at night.

Had an interesting run down into camp with the truck and trailer...steep downhill turning to the left that was a sheet of ice and snow...kept the truck out of the trees somehow but the trailer caught in the tree line and stopped me from sliding farther down the 50 or 60 foot embankment on the right. Took the Tacoma off and recovered the F250 and trailer with the winch and escaped any damage. I’m still finding bits of seat in my ass...code brown was in full effect.

Ran the first garden on 18 that took an axle shaft out the last time I attempted it and nearly required a helicopter for my buddy in the blue 4Runner that broke both driveshafts.

Then we ran the rest of 18 and did 14 the next day. Two great trails for sure

Got back to camp and started drag racing across the field...apparently 70hp is enough to break a g52 on the blue 4Runner.

And then @Justinogo blew up on the way home

Not sure of the extent of the damage yet, haven't had time to pull the motor. May just be rod bearings :fingerscrossed:

Either way... seems like a good time for a 3rz swap

Damn that's just as bad as a wheel coming off because the lug nuts are only finger tight!

oil was full before the trip and hadn't lost any since I got it, including AOP, so didn't check it before heading home. It was down to about a quart when it started knocking. Never smoked at all so not sure what happened, can't find any leaks. I suspect PCV valve failure because the hood has a stain on the under side now

Going to need a flat bill, Vans, and knee high black socks to complete the look now.
