I've applied at all those auto stores in the past and even with 9 years of maintenance in the air force I never got a call back. Hell, when I was in school looking for a part time job I applied at all the big stores, Target, Lowes, Best Buy, auto stores, just about anywhere I could think for a PT job and never got a call back... IDK if over/under qualified or I just suck at applying?

Yeah I only took off the lens to see which one it was. I don't think she will miss it really. If she needs it then she can have it back. No need to buy one when this one will pump out good photos.

Maybe over qualified, or maybe selling yourself wrong on the app. Like don't do any/any for hours and stuff. Try to talk to a super or store manager, too. Let them know you want to work and what you can do. A lot of those places have automated screening processes which will rule out your application just on a keyword or two. Walk in, say, hey, can I talk to the manager? I'm looking for work.

That is what I was planning on doing this time around. Go in and ask. Sometimes they'd just tell me to go to the website though which defeats the purpose. Why automate a process that should be more personal.

Good good. Yea I think you'll be happy with it! At the very least experiment and see if you want to buy your own or get into it more.

South Carolina is a registered Good Ole Boy state. It's all about who you know. If you meet the right person, make the right friend, you can get the right job.

I was into it a few years ago but got back out of it. I’ve been wanting to get back into it recently and just saw this sitting off on a table and said it won’t be missed for a little while. Doubt she’ll even care that I have it.

I had not experienced any of that. Only time I have ever had slight squeaking, I greased them with your grease gun that one time.

Networking at your local church might find something, too. Not trying to push religion on you by any means, but I know around here a common question when you meet someone new is "what church do you go to?" :notsure:

For me it has always been whats your last name. Well, I am not from around here so I tell them my wife's maiden name. I'd say a good 75% of local people that I have met that asked know it and know her dad so that works for me.

I just need to put feelers out there and see what is available.

I bought the caps for the uni balls- only greased them once too.

No- just Icon tubular uca- with the caps. Now I am going to new Icon UCA’s with Delta Joint- plan to cap it too.

the top where the zerk fitting goes is all sealed up no need for a cap its the underneath it doesn't have a boot to cover the joint. If you take the plastic protective cover off you'll see the grooves I am talking about. That ball joint is a very maintenance heavy joint due to the lack of covering. I don't squeak from my bushings it's from the joint. Not only do those grooves act as a place for dirt to egress but also the grease itself.

Gotcha- Just letting you know what I've experienced since owning them and putting some miles and use to them. I think they are really good UCAs just that boot thing is their downfall. The bushings I've only greased once besides initially doing it during the install and they are doing great.

Talking about this makes me think maybe I could find an aftermarket boot from Moog or something that could work for them.
