Then we can move this here...

The same argument still stand though. How can you inforce somthing showing weather or not he is selling that item, and who says the buyer dosent already have it?

There is to many variables to this to make it inforcable. Heck, all he has to do is open it and put a small price of wood. Now it can’t hold and is legal...

All I remember for sure is that you can use one of them in both, and the other only works in one. I was pretty sure that it was alloy fits in steel, but steel doesn't fit in alloy. It's because of that angle JDM mentions, one of them won't fit properly in one case but the other works either way. Of course this was back when they actually came with a sensor in the spare since I thought they stopped doing that at some point. I have a Sport that came with alloy and steel spare, and all five of them went into FJ alloys with no issue and as far as I know were all the same sensor type.

Is this One of those riddles where there are hidden clues as to what the hell you're talking about and we have to guess? :D

This is what I've read, that in the steel spare wheel can use the 20 degree sensor like the alloy wheels and the lower trim steel rims come with a 40 degree. What confuses me is if the 20 degree will work universally why does Toyota even use the 40 degree in the first place?

I assumed the 40 degree sensor in steel wheels hugs the middle of the wheel better so is less likely to be damaged mounting the tire or getting broken in a flat. So it's not clear to me which Toyota intended in the spare style steel. IOW, if the 40 degree fits then that seems like the "right" one.

But if the wheel is designed to use a 20 degree like the alloy wheels then a 40 won't even fit correctly. I don't want to buy sensors just to have to flip them upside down, so I'm thinking I need to search for a set of 20 degree and if I find they don't sit down as far as they could ideally then I'll be watching for a set of of 40 to swap on the next set of tires.

If this is true, then it’s exactly the info I need. Gonna move my spare from steel to an alloy.

I thought the mag law only applied for 2014 and after? If you owned before 2014 you were grandfathered in?

Wonder if Discount will work with a deleted TPMS. I know they are love/hate but I still buy tires there usually. Hadn't really thought about punting the whole stupid system.

Isn’t there a gun specific thread on here? Dumb question, I know there are many. That’s probably the best place to talk about this.

If anyone else lives in Aurora, take measures to secure your spare... at least 3 Tacos (including mine) have had theirs stolen in the past month or so
