My wife sent me a text and told me her wiper is broken. She said it fell off. I had offered to clean off her car before took off of work and before I went back to bed. And now it turns out that the zone valve motor is actually gone in my heating system, just had to be manually tricked into turning on ,not a good start to my morning.

Mike I just now woke to find heat not on. I spun the top of zone motor and moved (slowly without help) then furnace clicked on.
Do you think I can buy just the motor or am I better off buying a whole kit and taking the motor off and using bat?
Seeing how it is pretty obvious that I’ve never done this before and that the wiring looks ridiculously simple, do you think it would take a long time to do ?

How'd the hunt go? Cross paths with any moose? I was up in Rangeley and the base has 4-6 with a foot past the first 500' and 16" at the top

Chase is correct, it's easy to just replace the head. I did that with mine, what I don't remember is if I was able to find just the head or if I bought the whole valve and just swapped the heads. Replacing the head itself is a 15-20 minute job, no special tools required. Shut down the boiler to make sure power is cut to the heads and make note of the wiring to ensure you put it all back the same way. The good thing is, you have 2 zones with the same valve so you have a cheat sheet for the wiring.

I'm with you! I want a good foot+ storm. Have some snow shoes to try out.

When I hear people complain about the winter I always just wonder why they live here.

I have a big old set of Fabers that I've taken up Greylock a few times. I like it a lot. I have another set of more modern ones that I've never used that I want to try. The Faber bindings are getting tired and I kind of like them better as a wall decoration anyway, so I'm hoping the new set works out.

I hear that. It's like 45* out today and way too cold! It's like mid 60s in Louisiana, and I can't wait! It seems like I may not have moved far enough south...
